Just 33 for now but who knows in a few years depending on my next duty station and then if we go back to Europe i will wait until i return.

 

Hmm I want to say yes but there are a few spots that could be a challenge depending on how wet it is. If the mountains got snow/ice last night it would be tough for sure.

I'm not sure about going up Union Springs. I've only taken it down from FPK, but there are 3 ways up to FPK.

The easiest that I've been up is to go past Switzer Lake which is Switzer Lake Rd/Dunkle Hollow Rd. I've heard that the road has gotten bad though from a couple guys on here that haul their small camping trailers up in a few months ago. Start from here: https://goo.gl/maps/R7WSGUcfHJu

I've also been up another way. I was following other people, but I think we went up Briery Branch Rd. I was with @Coot83 and @misdirection1982, so one of them should know. Going down Union Springs there were 2 spots that gave me trouble. I got over the first after 3-4 tries with a running start and the right line. The second, I probably could have made with a running start, but I didn't have enough momentum on the first try and almost backed into a tree and then was stuck just spinning in wet leaves/mud. Look... all of you northern Virginia drivers... If you are driving in the rain, turn on your fucking headlights! This is even more true if your vehicle is white, black, gray, silver, or any other color that might make it hard to be seen in the rain. I understand that YOU don't need your lights on to see. It's NOT always about you, OK? The rest of us drivers do need it to be able to see you."
