I am not the good friend, but I am close by, lol. I bought your bpf recovery point from you and couldn't stop staring at your truck. Thanks again.

Basically the same way I am feeling. Hawaii will always be home but I just want to experience new things. Just doing research on sending my vehicles over and registering them. I’m looking to rent an apartment for a few months then buy a house ASAP. Figuring out where I want to live is also fun. I have narrowed it down to a few place, I just can’t live in Portland(city).

Hey Crew, does anyone have a suggestion for a easy first time off road trail for a stock Taco? I wanna put some dirt on my tires but not climb 2ft tall rocks quite yet. Maybe this Sunday I would like to go out and possibly meet some Taco brothers and sisters.

Hi All, I figure a few are running the KO2s and we get a good amount of rain, so how bad are they on the wet roads? Did you buy something else because of bad reviews they get for wet roads?

Was there a few weeks ago as well. Went for a SAR mission, then hit a quick trail right after we debriefed.

I think I saw your truck back on Oct 20th, a Saturday morning. You were heading west bound on 26 just east of Sandy. Possibly you?

That would have been me. Headed home from a long night of training in the Mt. Hood Forest.

I haven’t had a single problem with rain, snow, ice, or dry with my KO2. They really well on and off-road, am happy with the purchase.

A lot of the trip planning happens on Facebook. Go check out PNW Expedition and PDX Overlanders. They do “Newb Runs” every now and then, but mainly do small groups.

The first Newb Run I did with them was at Browns Camp. We did easy and intermediate trails, and I did just fine in my stock 05 Sport with not-the-best tires. Just go slow and learn what your truck can do.

There are better photos out there, but these were mine. Notice the 2WD VW van

Took the truck into Mikes Custom Toys to have some work done. Wow, I drove in thinking my truck was in good shape. I left there thinking i was in a new truck. Great guy to work with. Great shop and AMAZING work. Had my Icon 2.5 reservoir shocks all rebuilt. New 700lb springs added, rebuilt my UCA with the delta joints and replaced my Icon AAL with the Dakar leaf spring ELO95. My wife noticed the ride difference right alway. So much smoother. I will for sure go back when i need more work.

Made that move several years ago. Lived in Hawaii (Aiea) for close to 40 years. Loved it, but just got way too expensive. Miss Bodysurfing the most!!!

I go every Saturday to Sandy’s or pryamid rock on the marine base I will miss that a lot. Just got over a foot of rain last night for the 4th time this year. Gotta patch the wash out holes in my yard again. I think food and culture will be the biggest adjustment. I really want to give my kid a good future and there’s no real future here financially and jobs wise. I’m glad a few of you have already done the move. If you have any advice I would love to hear it from you an @cemented

When I was done with the infantry they moved me over there. Terrible mistake to put a marine like me around a bunch of officers. Hilarity insued up there. Appreciate it very much.
