Most companies they set the sliders at 15* this hugs the body a little more and allows some sliding off rocks or other obstacles. Personally I don't think I'd go flat. If you need a step having filler plates is awesome. Grant it sliders don't make the best steps but that's really not what they're meant for. Kickout is great to push your ass end out away from an obstacle, and if your wheels and tires stick out some it keeps you from getting stuck up against a tree and not being able to move. Ask me how I know :anonymous: and have the scuffs to show.

I'll add a little bit more to what @ovrlndkull said. If you have welding skills then get the weld-on because they are usually cheaper than the bolt-ons and easier to ship ... but if you don't have welding skills then the bolt-ons are perfectly fine too.

I personally love the kickout since it will literally help push you away from a tree or other obstacle if you are ever in the situation. The angle really depends on how you want them to look and if you plan on using them as a step-up as well. Great questions though and that might make for a good vid all by itself. Hmmm...

TBH just watching someone wheel is kind of boring. Yet there aren't too many instructional videos on wheeling and picking lines. Some aussies do those for like water crossings and stuff but not much on the type of wheeling we see here.

So weld on kick out with a angle up. Will decide latter about filler plates. Dont want that salty slurrie having more places to stick than i already have.

I love them as well. But do like learning as well. But maybe you get more watching the educatioal vids is they like watching the model you hire to do the videos.

The question is Are you ever going to get a Aftermarket Front Bumper?

Check this out and see what I am talking about with the size plates attaching to the frame there is less surface area to distribute the impacts. This is an extreme case of impacts but shows what can happen over time with hard use. You can watch the video from the beginning but they slammed these sliders from different heights and the small plates ended up denting the frame some on a T4R which is a boxed frame unlike ours which is open C-channel which may be more prone to this over lots of use.

I like watching them to a certain extent but that just makes me want to get out there more than I have time for so it pisses me off. Also just adds more places to the bucket list of wheeling trips. This yr. alone so far my truck has clocked around 7000 miles offroad. This includes doing work and wheeling. I've probably got around 1500-2000 miles wheeling.

Lookup Maxx Powell video's he has a lot of good wheeling videos from Washington and the surrounding states. He also enjoys guns and shooting.

He can be kinda annoying and a little like an air head imo. He does have some good adventures though and I get ideas of where to go from his videos. They are more overlanding than hard core wheeling though.

Yep! When Uwharrie is only an Hr away I go very often and run around 20 or so miles on the trails there.
