Is Something Wrong with my Setup? New Lift...Lot's of Pictures! Need Help!

I put on the Toytec ultimate lift kit, TC UCAs, 17" Moto Metal 951s and 285/70/17 BFGoodrich KM2s. The front went from 34.5 inches (stock) to about 40.5" (after everything went on). I know the KM2s added about 1 inch of lift so this means the front coilovers lifted the front ~5", right??? The coilovers are preset to 2.5-3.0" of lift from Toytec so I'm not sure why I got so much more lift. I'm worried I did something wrong.

I really like it and it all looks good but the last thing I want is something to fail. Please look at my pics and let me know if you see anything I may have done wrong. This was my 1st ever lift install so it wouldn't surprise me if I screwed something up.

Is the ball joint in a normal position? It looks like the extra high has the ball joint maxed out. Please look close and tell me if something is wrong. I don't want anything to fail

Thanks for the help and if you see anything wrong please let me know...seems like I got too much height in the front but not sure since I didn't change the height of the preset coilovers.

 

Are you taking in to account the larger tires as well. You should measure from the center of the hub to the fender to get an accurate measurement.

 

I do agree that the balls look stressed, but what do I know lol. Just for future reference, you got the Ultimate lift didn't you? What "rear options" did you get?

 

That is exactly where I measured...center of hub before and after. I got a total increase on the front of 6". The KM2s I think are 2" more in diameter so that lifts the truck 1". This results in a 6 -1=5" lift from the coilovers, right?

 

I did the 1.5 TSB AAL.

 

30" - 34.5" so 4.5" with the rugged trail pictures. From tire to wheel well.

33" - 40.5" so 7.5" with the bfg pictures. From tire to wheel well.

I know it's a rough estimate but that's about a 3" difference.

 

No matter what size tires you put on the center of the hub won't be any further or closer to the fender just because of the tires. It'll just fill out the space between.

 

well, stock measurement from center front hub to fender is just about 20". do that measurement as it will take out other varables (ie tire height, etc). you should be just about 22.5-23" from my understanding of the 2.5'3" toytec lift.

do this measurement and report back so we can help better.

 

Had you done the TSB? So do you have 4 or 5 springs now?

 

Oh...I was measuring from the ground to the fender at the center of the wheel.

 

Right now from center of hub to fender is 25"

That's what I meant in my first post, you would have to have the before measurement to know total lift.

 

Before lift...this is another measurement I took before the lift. Help this helps...

Looks like the center of the hub is at about 18" from the ground. The height is 34.5 so 34.5-18=16.5 from center of hub to fender. now that same measurement is 25" so 25-16.5=8.5" That can't be right....

 

im at 25" w/ my 4" lift spindles and DRs at ~1" lift!! lower those COs so that your at 22.5-23" up front and you'll be good to go. im assuming you havent got an alignment yet, as there is no way they could have gotten you good numbers!

 

stock is just about 20" front center hub to fender, we can roughly base his 25" from there...

 

I can't really tell where the center measures up. Just take that number and pretend it's the start of the tape measure and go from there.

 

When were they installed? Perhaps your setup needs time to settle.

 

If I adjust the front down 2" then the rear will be 3" higher...I thought it was supposed to be level...what am I missing?

I have gotten an alignment.

^ well, the rear is like 2.5" higher stock...so you throw on 2.5" front lift and your level (this is the exact setup i ran before i redid my front end), then you add the AAL to the rear, you have your 2"+ of rake back...at least thats how my math comes out!
