Taco to 4runner?

I wish I had the funds to even toy with the idea of swapping to a 4Runner. lol. If they made a manual transmission for the 4Runner I probably would've gotten one over the taco. But they didn't so Taco it is. Happy Veterans Day to all military members on the forum.

Example Phrases that are not allowed... Because some people just can't understand how they are used.

What kind of beast does your 4Runner tow like? Like an ox? If that’s the case your 4Runner tows very slowly and generally only through fields. How does it do at high speed in concrete?

Or does it tow more like a mythological beast? In this case, I don’t know the general specifications of the made up beast you may be referring to.

You can laugh at the ridiculousness, or you can cuss me out and ignore me now. The choice will be yours.

Wish I had two 4Rs.

Rattle in dash, squeaky springs, fucked up body mounts, weird mismatched driveline... These are things that you don't deal with in the 4R. You just drive it. It is solid.

 

I'll never understand why anyone that doesn't need the truck bed would own and drive one.

 

For status symbol....unfortunately

The 4R with a two-row setup has a shit ton of room in the back. The taco has a tiny bed...

 

Mine doesn't. AC. And I put shit back there all the time that would never fit in a 4r or you wouldn't want in the back of your SUV.

 

I guess. I never thought of a Tacoma as a status symbol though.

 

Stinky shit counts. For those of us with enduro bikes, loading it into the truck versus hauling behind on a trailer is convenient. Lots of truck scenarios count.

But the 4Runner is a great solution for a variety of scenarios, too. People just have to decide which is better suited to them.

Ideally owning both will help someone decide which features are more important.

 

Can say same thing about basically any vehicle. All most people need is something like a Corolla most days. Yet, F-150 has been the best selling vehicle in USA and Canada for like 50 years.

 

Yeah, if I only used it a few times a year I'd just rent a truck for those occasions. Like 20 bucks a day. Wouldn't get a SUV tho. Personally rather drive something sporty and fun.

 

It's not, some people worry too much about what others drive....

I have hauled some enduro bikes. Always preferred to be able to close the tailgate so none of the other accompanying stuff could escape. Personal preference though, I suppose. Know plenty of people who never lost anything out the back.

 

Hard to close the 5’ bed. But motogate and other solutions help.
