Has anyone here had experience having acupuncture done on their dog? We have a Yorkshire, 11 years old, 12+ pounds who’s always been very active. True to his heritage he’s worked hard to keep the yard free of vermin. Mice, squirrels, small rabbits, snakes or birds anything that was a half-step slower than him was a goner.
Now he’s developed what the vet has diagnosed as neurological issues with his lower spine. The back legs still function but are weaker and he’s losing muscle. There doesn’t seem to be much pain involved just the weakness. We’ve been thru anti-inflammatories and pain meds during the process of elimination and now the vet is recommending acupuncture. Just wondering if anyone else has been down this road.

I don't have much information on it but growing up my buddy had a dog that was hit by a car and his back legs were paralyzed. Well they took him to get acupuncture and he started walking again. Took him regularly until he was getting too old to recover.

Just a thought, but have you tried CBD oil? It’s pricey, but the significant difference I’ve seen in my dog “Fats” is truly impressive. He had the same thing, kind of lame in his rear end, hard to get up didn’t move to well, stiffness etc. started giving him CBD oil and he has improved significantly.

My sister got this pup a few days ago, local family was moving and didn’t want to take him to the pound if they didn’t have to.
He’s between 6 and 7 months old, lab/German Shepard mix, very well mannered, he whines a little but doesn’t bark very much.

My wife was a fan of this painting, well known artist gets thousands for them.

In my Vets office there are several murals done by local art teacher.

Contacted him, and he recreated the exact painting as a gift for her at a fraction of the cost and used it as a class lesson.

Maggie is getting *old* .... she's gotten way stiff and arthritic, but she still seems to be quite content, tail wagging most of the time....

she'll be 12 yrs old next month. thats pretty old for a labrador, she's the only surviving member of her litter.

oh yeah, she's had a very happy doggo life. and she's just such a GOOD doggo. i was next door in my neighbors driveway today, talking about the car fire last night that happened directly in front of her place (brand new audi sedan crashed into stone wall, flipped, totally engulfed in flames, eeek). maggie was poking around as she always does, she normally doesn't go ANYwhere near the road, so I told her, Maggie, go home! (and pointed) and she looked at me with that look, then turned and started sauntering back to her safe place, stopped, turned and looked again, 'really?' ... yup, go on home, girl. so she did. neighbor was amused and amazed.

Quincy starts his first round of dog training this week. Hopefully he'll achieve "Maggie" level some day ;)
