I did the same thing. Ordered mine and have been sitting on them for a few months. Installed my new Suspension System and I don’t need them. However, since I have them, I might go ahead and get it done anyways.

Used my taco to carry my daughter to negotiate a sweet deal on a new car. Had msrp of $24380 and bought it for $18700. Not a yota but is exactly what she wanted. Good day.

While, increased torque seems to be a logical step toward better holding power and clamping force, i.e. the tighter you make it, the better; this is not true. The way the u-bolts, washers and nuts are manufactured and hardened is specifically engineered for specific applications and torque. Applying too much torque, outside the manufacturer's engineered specs, over time, will lead to metal fatigue, hydrogen embrittlement and possibly the loss of the "elastic" properties of the metal. If you had torqued them to 55 ft/lbs or even 57 ft/lbs, I think you would be ok. Twenty-three extra ft/lbs of torque has the possibility of stretching the metal, and threads, to the edge of the failure point. Add in stresses of driving (potholes or even off-road use) and it can lead to axle-wrap and other damages.

Source: I work with fasteners everyday and in particular, their application in engineered components.

Give it a month or so for the kickers to really loosen up and sound good. I was hesitant to buy this brand but they sound really good

    I concur completely with @My_Name_is_Rahl
I spend every day at work comparing chemical and mechanic properties of fasteners with requirements and specifications. Overtorquing fasteners is bad news. I would remove, replace and torque those fasteners to required torque values. If not then the next bump or hard braking could break the fasteners that are stressed beyond their strength.

Working for the DOD every day is spent surrounded by veterans. Every day is Veterans day. On this day we all say thank you for your service and sacrifices. We appreciate you every day.

Also for newbies my kicker upgrade still rocks hard after 17 months.

Threw in this Tacoma bed mat today! Got it used for 50$ from someone local. I thought it was a steal! Slow and steady.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
My wife drives a Fusion and loves it. No complaints after three years and 60k. Should be a good car for your daughter.

Where there's a will, there's a way!:sawzall::welder:The question is, if your daughter is like my wife and you "improve" her new car, is there a risk of loosing a limb?
