Crap. I just saw this thread. I've been living under a rock apparently.

I literally just dropped off a brand new, unpainted stock bumper part no. 52151-04907 for powder coating (finally getting rid of the last bit of chrome). I haven't liked any rear aftermarket bumpers except the PBs and well...

But this bumper. Scheisse. It's sick looking!! Damn that's a good looking bumper. So is your front bumper that I also recently just learned about. Well done.

In the process of going thru and overhauling my suspension but will likely be back for this rear bumper. I may not even install the new Toyota rear bumper. That bumper might be hitting the classifieds section on here sooner than later.

    You. Evil. Man.

I've been out of the TW loop for a bit. Just haven't had the time - work, life, etc. Truck needs suspension work pretty badly so as soon as I get past that, I'll likely be in touch.

I used to race cars for 10-ish years. Still have the car, just haven't gone down that money pit path for a bit. Anyhow... my point is, I've been around lots of metal fabricators here in NC. Your fab work and eye for design is stellar.

Can anyone tell me how the hidden receiver on these bumpers compares to the factory receiver in terms of how much higher and further forward or backward whatever you're putting in the receiver will sit?

IOW, if you have a draw bar that sits at "zero" the ball will end up some inches higher up from the ground and some inches further away from the tailgate. I'd like to know the "some" measurements.

The reason I'm asking is right now with a factory receiver when I use my 2 tray bike rack the handlebars of the bike sitting closer to the truck will hit my camper shell. So I need to run a hitch extender that moves the rack backward 6 inches. This sort of works but ends up with a long arm that likes to wobble. If the ATH position is enough higher and back I might be able to ditch the extender and will be a no-brainer...

The center of the receiver hole on the hidden receiver is about 4.5” from the bottom of the tailgate. As far as how far out it sits I don’t have a good measurement, but I’d say about 2” out from the bottom edge of the tailgate. It’s tucked up and in quite a bit more than the factory receiver.

when swingouts are made, will they be a direct bolt on to these or a completely new bumper?

The carrier would have to be ordered at the same time...the hinge and latch brackets would be welded on.

I think I measured the same and if so my stock hitch center of receiver sits about 12" below the tailgate edge, so I'd gain about 7.5". That would work I think. Wheels spinning...
