That's not wind shear, but okay.

We've been without power for three days. The fuel level in our cars never factored into that.

I'm pretty sure if Toyota says it's 21.1 gallons, that's what it is. I usually show about 350-360 'miles to empty' on my 2018 DC Sport. Your filling station must love you for over filling your tank- not!

That's a good rule even though I often don't follow it, as going too low on fuel is hard on electric fuel pumps.

Wind shear is a term from 1500s Scotland. The wind would blow so strongly over the moors that it would “shear” the wool right off the sheep. Thus, wind shear.

When the low fuel light comes on, I start to pay attention to the levels and consider where I'll be driving to. If just around town (most of the time) I don't sweat it and drive to at least 375-385 miles and many times up to 400. That usually leaves me with 2 gals or so left in the tank.

I think the miles left to empty is calculated by the computer based on your driving habits and the normal mpg's you get. Hot rod a lot and that number will eventually go down. Drive like grandpa of course it will be higher.

Today's gasoline is typically laced with ethanol. Ethanol has an affinity for water. Air space in fuel tanks facilities water condensing out of the air and into the ethanol soup. Goggle ethanol in gasoline to see what happens next.

Keeping the fuel tank of your truck, car, boat, lawnmower, etc., full helps reduce ethanol induced fuel problems.

I go through gas fairly quick, but I drive with ECT on and like to keep it limited to 4th for M A X I M U M P O W E R. I never break 20 MPG anymore, but my Tacoma is so much more fun to drive now.

    Smiles per gallon, amiright?

That bottom pic looks like a Saturn, and pretty accurate for the fuel level mine typically had. I barely ever filled it up past 1/4 tank until I was out of school and working full time.

My truck doesn't tell me miles to empty. I start thinking about filling up at 1/4 tank, and the light comes on with about 3 gallons left.

I run OBD Fusion, and the max amount that the sending unit will show is 19.3 gallons.

I had a truck I bought brand new and would fill it then drive it untill empty , like the gas lights been on for a while and the needle is past E then I would stop in and fill up again. I did this for ove 100,000 miles and over 13 years, never needed a fuel pump.

Ran it for as long as I could stomach past empty.

And yes, that’s 0.00. Fuel perks for Home Depot gift cards!!! I rarely pay for gas.

Maybe 35 miles past empty. Nice to know you can push it a little.

Cut a hole in the bed and affix a larger tank in the bed and attach it to the regular tank. That will net you about 158 more gallons of gas if you try to keep the weight at 1000 pounds. If you want to be able to carry passengers, I'd reduce that to around 750 pounds. Post pics.

I would be tickled pink if I could get gas at 2.55 or even 3.05 or hell even 3.55. Gas is almost $4 here in CA thanks to the fucktards who rejected the gas tax repeal and it will only go up once cap and trade takes effect. Enjoy your high gas prices you cock sucking liberals!!!
