I have side steps, put them on every truck for just this reason. Anything sticking
out further than the doors works.

Wife stood there looking at me like - is this crazy lady serious? :D

I’ve got factory predator steps on mine, haven’t had the chance to determine if they’re out far enough yet which is a good thing I guess lol
Love to see that woman file a report saying you did it

People suck, I park far away, always in the lines, as even as possible. Drawing attention is not a good thing, people will do shit because they can. The movie “Pulp Fiction “ comes to mind.

Reminds me of sweet Camaro a guy I used to work with had.....several years ago.

We both graduated from the same college, who's colors are purple & gold.

His Camaro was brand new and he'd ordered it in purple. It was a very sweet looking car.

He'd drive it to our home games and park where we'd tailgate. He had some cool magnetic gameday graphics that he'd put on it. Really cool car.

Unfortunately that sweet Camaro stuck out like a lightning rod to the opposing teams fans and it was vandalized in the first two home games of the season. He never brought it back. Some sorry folks in this world to stoop so low as do something like that.

As far as parking at work.....I'm very cautious, too. I park well out from the main area and always take an end spot and hang over the line to create maximum space on the other.

The step rails I have did a good job of protecting me on three different occasions......apparently. I saw the marks on them with the other car's paint on them. Simply wiped off and hit the rails with some Rustoleum and all is well. They likely won't do much if a taller vehicle dings me.

The grocery store I shop at has four spots that are fairly well out there, but there is a smallish buffer space separating them....exactly like in a handicap space. They aren't marked for special parking and as said they are further out. The store manager told me that was where they didn't have enough room for full spaces so they marked small ones with lines. He told me to enjoy 'em.

My truck was a month old with 1200 miles on it when I parked behind a Cracker Barrel to eat breakfast. Couldn’t have parked further away. I backed into the parking spot. Pick up still had temporary plates on it. I came out to find my front bumper mashed in. People are trash.

Yup this is why it sucks to have new things, people are ass holes. Glad mine is getting older, I just shrug when I find a new scratch/ding now.

Parking with cones or in the middle of two spaces is an invitation for retribution. It ain't a Ferrari its a truck. Had an a hole scratch the door on my 575M. Saw it happen. Called cops. Called my insurance and they charged the others ins. Dis assemble door, prep door, match paint, reassemble, $1500.00 paid other ins. Perfectly done by a Ferrari dealer and could have asked for diminished value too but did not. This was just done by an inconsiderate a hole. No reason to rile up other folks by parking like your special. I did a door myself once. Wind snatched door and dinged car. Left a note. Apologized. Paid for damage. $800 to repaint door. Chump change and we both felt better about it especially me for doing the right thing and not being an a hole.

Rock sliders help prevent dings. I saw a woman jam her door into my rock slider as I was walking up, then she yelled at me for dinging her Mercedes door. She had multiples on the door I saw. I guess money doesn't buy happiness.

That’s part of the reason I bought the BAMF bolt on rock sliders (during sale). Nobody can sing me now because the armor sticks 1” past the door

There’s a lot SUV rear doors that are cut high in the rear and will go right over the sliders and still ding the door.

If some people saw a vehicle parked with cones all around it, they would go out of their way to move the cones and park next to you.

At work I have had someone break my back passenger window and rob my backpack. I had someone hit and run my back bumper. I also had someone park too close to the front grill and busted my licence plate holder (black piece that protrudes). Damn my work
