Driving my Tacoma yesterday evening 20:00hrs. following 2 cars at 35mph...first one deer ran out in front of the lead cars headlights, bam! 50 yds later, another deer jumped out again, just in front of the headlights of the car in front of me, bam! Parts flying across the road. I felt for those folks...I hit 2 deer last year, same time in the evening, same scenario, different locations...on two different days; also seemed to run out of the dark just in front of the headlights, like they were waiting for the lights to light up the road. Bad time of the year, cold and rutting season. My 2 hits cost a total of $1000 in deductibles, 230# if venison, not one steak or backstrap ! Within city limits, illegal to take roadkill. Police called both times. No deer crossing signs, guess deer can't read?? BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

Crazy! My old roommate snapped three mice with one trap, it was extraordinary.

One of the main reasons I’m looking to invest in a steel bumper so hopefully my entire front end won’t disintegrate

We've got more deer in this area than we have dogs. They've got those mobile construction message boards all over creation warning drivers of deer. My problem is gettin off the main roads, and deer tearin up outta the ditches & Slammin into the side of the truck. Happened to a neighbour twice in one week, Lol. Explain that to an insurance adjuster. Just a tip, don't wash it before you visit the insurance office.

Surely the paper wrote an article about "local public servant massacres whole deer family." Basically that's incredible.
Same with the mouse trap. Nuts.

I had to “dispatch” several survivors to the horror of a resident who sobbed away in the background. My sergeant who was already unhappy had to explain why we’re not transporting the injured deer to a vet lol

I came upon a scene like that one spring, a family were traveling in 2 or 3 vehicles, one was towing a travel trailer. Group of deer came out. wack, wack, wack, 3 deer hit, 2 of those ran back into the woods along with a few others. another one crossed the east bound lanes and median and as i watched the white tail bobbing towards a west bound car, I focused on the scene in front of me. The wife shouted, "OMG, that car just hit that deer!" . the car just clipped the deer's head and the body spun down the side taking off the mirror and wrinkled the whole side of the car. One doe was still kicking after going under the truck/trailer. Incredible how tough they can be. Sad to watch a deer slowly die while waiting for the authorities to arrive to dispatch it.

They are everywhere here also. I hit a blue heron and truck is going into shop tomorrow.
Fog light pushed in, plastic bumper/grill tabs broke. Deer hit is gonna be bad. I think I read new ranger will have steel bumpers. Doesn't help if deer goes into grill....but wish these tacomas were a bit more stout. Maybe a trim model offering with frame sliders and front and rear bumper jacking points. Cause when yer bogged we arent able to jack off anything. Looks like the arb grill guard thats designed to hit roos going fast is a good deer defense.

Georgetown, Texas, just north of Austin; also wild turkey are all over the side of the road as well, they just seem to cross a road in a long line, one in the middle stops to go back, then they all turn around. Interesting to watch as long as you are stopped completely and only observing, then looking in the rear view to see another vehicle oblivious to stopped cars cram on brakes...

When I was in college I was late for class, about an hour drive. I pulled out of my development on a road with a 50 mph speed limit. About a mile into my drive some jackass pulls onto the road and cuts me off. I was about 100 feet away. I slammed on my brakes as this guy took off. He proceeds to hit a giant buck about a half mile down the road. I see everything. The front end of his new Camry is smashed in. The buck must've been around 200 pounds. The thing does a flip, lands on his feet and keeps running, doesn't seem to have a scratch on him. I never believed in karma until that day.

Last week driving back from a work trip in Connecticut we came across a scene where someone had hit a black bear. There was the car that hit it, a sheriff and an ambulance and then about 5 other people stopped to see if they could take it.
