Shit. I rolled through Maryland with my XDM in the center console several months back when I went to green ridge. I knew there was a reason I dont go north. Damn Yankees

I think you just have bad luck when it comes to the cops that pull you over.

I've been pulled over in MD 4 times in the 2 yrs since I moved out here. Never been asked about having a gun in the vehicle or searched, and I got my VA ccw permit as soon as I moved out here. Hell, I think I've got nearly as many warnings out here in 2 years as I got in the 20 years I was driving in TX/NM.

When i deserve to be pulled over i'm 100% fine with it and take whatever ticket comes my way, without contest. On that particular stop the cop said i "failed to stay in my lane, while changing lanes"....whatever that means. Its one of 3 bad stops i've had since driving, out of probably 30 pull overs. He said my ccw gave him probable cause to search my vehicle.

 

Indeed. I wish they'd enforce that one.

 

I'm not a lawyer, but I dont think having a ccw gives probable cause to search. I think that if I was in your shoes, I'd sue, and I've never sued anyone.
Probable cause is based on articulable suspicion that a crime is being commited or has been committed. Just having a ccw permit doesnt mean a crime is being commited or has been. You can still lawfully transport a firearm through md, as long as your final destination isnt md.

I'd at minimum had asked for a supervisor.

And today is the centennial of the signing of the armistice to end WW1. So pretty historic weekend.

 

It really is straightforward.

• Remove driveshaft
• Drain gear oil
• Unbolt all brackets holding brake lines to the axle
• Unbolt 4 bolts holding each axle shaft in
• Disconnect and unbolt ABS sensor
• Slide axle shaft out and put a piece of 2x4 in between the brake drum and axle tube
• Unbolt the 10 or 12 or 14 bolts holding the 3rd member in and take it out. Simple as that.

The 2x4s and unbolting the brake line brackets allows you enough room to get the 3rd member out and not have to unbolt your brake lines.

 

I’ve been at expo east all weekend and what a mess. It rained all day Friday so it’s soupy as hell here. There’s also been some shit show organization from those running it. If you didn’t make it out, don’t be sad.

 

Yeah. That's basically what the write up I found said. I just ordered a new gasket and crush washers and ordered gear oil on Friday, so I should have everything to install it next weekend. The 3rd member was delivered yesterday.

Agreed, if anything ccw shows you actually follow the law and are not a criminal based on the back ground check required.

 

I always wonder about what the cops think when they approach a pickup with the don’t tread on me license plate, the sig, glock and HK stickers on the rear window.

 

Sad to hear but now i feel Better I didn’t make it.

 

Unfortunately it doesn’t always give a good feeling of being on the same side and For some Probably makes them feel uneasy. I trust Nobody so it wouldn’t matter to me what stickers you have. But i prefer to be the grey man and not shout to the world my lifestyle or opinions.

All situations are different though but many can be avoided by not having biases and being uneducated.
