This is why we do the things we do. The satisfaction of making something that has important use is so satisfying.

Do follow up with details. I've been bitten by that same bug.

The price goes up on the unit $200 tomorrow. If you order by today it’s $1295. It will be $1500 starting tomorrow

Hahaha I’m telling you bro, I whipped out my debit card every night for 5 nights in a row when I was chillin on the couch and was ready to punch in the numbers but stopped myself for some reason every night. Not until last night when I actually thought of a potentially profitable product was I able to commit to it lol. But even if you don’t use it to make any money and it’s only for hobby, it’s such an inexpensive home unit that it is totally worth the cost

What do you use to get those welds buffed out so nice?

I blend almost smooth with a flap disc then level with files. Then I finish with sandpaper and scotch brite until smooth and a light reflection shows no dips.

Life feels pretty damn full, but @koditten made a good point... there won’t be any time later either, bucko!

Thanks for a kick in the a**

Got a few more pieces cut and tacked. I want to add a lower “wing” piece and a few gussets. After that I think it’ll be ready to burn in and move on to prep and paint.

Slow going and crooked as a cop, but I’m happy with it

I’ll cut some off the top plates to keep room for a winch and add some cut outs for a fair lead and recovery clevis’

I’ll trim the sides to help the tires clear and am also planning some cutouts for fog lights at some point.

For my next project I'm gonna replace the side tubes for something different. The red lines represent the new tubes. Thoughts?
I actually already cut them off.

Seems like you'll lose a little when approaching rocks. Why the update?
