I paid about $36,500 for TRD Sport, 6 cylinder, manual trans, 4X4 extended cab about a year ago. Driven it about 12,000 miles, mostly around town in stop and go traffic. Have to say I really don't like the truck: visibility is horrible/dangerous. The cockpit is NOT laid out for tall people. I'm 6'1", the windshield is narrow and the bottom 20% of my view is the hood :( That gets old real quick... The rear view mirror and big black out for the forward camera are a huge blind spot. I rear ended a lady turning right on red - because she was in that blind spot. Im constantly uavimg to move my head to look around the blind spot. And it could be fixed simply if they just designed in vertical seat adjustment... stupid they didnt. The road and wind noise is loud at 60 mph and above.

The bucket seat is not comfortable at all. The lumbar support doesn't work because after you crank it up, next day it's back down. Basically have to crank it overtly day..

The 3,5L has NO power at low RPM, none. It's a mutt. However it jumps to life above 3600 - you better hold on. Lol The manual trans is very clunky, not smooth at all. I drove an S10, 4.3L, manual trans, 200,000 miles before the Tacoma - no comparison in drivetrains.

The body style is pretty ugly, the front end is way too big, hard to see over, and is just layer after layer of ugly plastic, that doesn't work. Rainwater puddles on the backside of the hood scoop. Wtf?

Best things about the truck = the premium sound is fantastic. The technology is cool, but suspect - how did I rear end someone with collision avoidance !?... Not supposed to be possible.

I wish now, that I would have bought the 4.0L Frontier. Anybody want to buy my 2018 TRD Sport?

Asked for a quote online so they wont give me the full breakdown. But from what I know about dealers in my area, it'd include a $1045 freight charge, 6% tax, $295.50 tag fee, and $300 processing fee.

    EDIT: And a $750 rebate on 2019s

I believe to sum up....Toyota stealers know that Tacomas are their bread and butter profit centers....super popular, unbelievable demand, reputation for durability...make hay while the sun shines is their motto. How many Tacoma t.v. ads have you seen compared to RAM, Ford and GM? Shop smart, timing is important (holidays, end of month, factory rebates, other incentives). Never trade in, sell locally or get quotes from major large used car dealers. Dealer profit is a LOT MORE THAN GOSSIP. Pay CASH. No interest. Keep your vehicle until it wears out (note Toyotas never do). Be SMART! Don't lease. 15 year old Tacomas bring easy 30%+ of original cost and demand is unbelievable. If you grow bored and want new....that's up to you.....

Hate to be that guy, but....did you test drive it? And pretty sure TSS features only work above a certain speed.

I wouldn’t say the visibility is dangerous. It could be better, but it is designed to look cool.
It is a loud interior, but it’s a cheap midsize truck, not a Lexus.
Yeah, the seats aren’t too comfortable, but it’s an inexpensive truck. There are plenty of other options which have better seats, but cost more.
I agree about the power, I wish the engine had more torque. I liked the manual trans in my Miata, but mine is a 4X4 pickup truck.
I think the front end is aggressive, i wish it was more conservative, but it’s growing on me.
I don’t know anything about the tech or premium packages, because I’m cheap.
It is what it is, an inexpensive truck (with good resale) to haul things around town and go off road occasionally. If I wanted a touring pick for more comfort or stop and go traffic, I’d have bought an automatic trans Honda ridge line.

I just emailed Cobb County. 5 minutes later I had a quote that was 10% off MSRP for a 2019 and 14% off a 2018. I can tell you in CT that I have been getting email quotes from 4-9%, most in the 5% range. I just got one that was 9.8% off in CT lol!

I can’t get a dealer NATIONWIDE to give me 10% off or more for 2018 TRD Off Road 4x4 Double Cab Long Bed in Cement.

I email everyone of them that has one left and say I’m ready to take it off your hands for a good price since it’s a 2018. 0/3 so far.

Cement is a popular color. It will be hard to get much more than 10% off that one.

Anyone buying these Tacoma's with Tech and Premium Package that list at $41,000 +?

Wondering how much they are dropping the price through negotiation? Maybe down to $38,000?

Probably since the 19's are new, not maybe that much yet?

I like the leather and the heated seats. Upon further review of the leather though, it's a light gray and looks cheap.

My Clazzios look a lot better and I could just fit them over the cloth seats if the heat was installed with the premium package only.

You're better off going for a 2019 if you are fixed on a specific color/ body style/ trim. 10% off MSRP should not be a problem. A month ago I had a deal for a Cement DCSB Sport for 15% off including/ $1000 rebate.

Any Canadians on this threat that would be willing to share what they paid for 2018 Tacomas? I'm getting quotes in the low 40s (Canadian) for a 2018 TRD Off Road, Access Cab, Manual. Planning to buy in Alberta, but prices from other providence welcome too. Or any advice on negotiating with Canadian dealers as a yank.

I'd love to get that configuration here in the states.

We can get the access cab with TRD Sport.

I've grown to hate the hood scoop though.

I was quoted $40, 448 otd for a 2018 with tech and premium. Not much of a discount it seems

There is the hood swap thread and tons of people willing to swap flat hoods for scooped hoods. The clazzios have their own heaters as an option too.

Just went to a Priority dealer today, just to see what I could get for my Frontier as a trade in,and what OTD is for a 2018 OR. The dealer told me they were getting a 2019 OR in Cement that I wanted,as well as both tech/premiums packages..Everything I wanted in a Taco...OTD with all the deals, specials, even military discount..$47k. I nearly shat myself. With 10k downpayment....still about $750 a month payment
