Hey guys sorry I’ve been away since the storm, dealing with damage and some health issues. I found out I have carpal tunnel and it has been a huge issue for me! Even the smallest use of my hands is severe pain.
Hey any chance anybody can give me a hand installing wiring and switch for my ditch lights? I was hoping I would have it done for my trip to the obx next week.

I’d be happy to but I’m leaving for Texas on Wed. If you still need help by Monday I wouldn’t mind coming out your way.

Nice man! I had a feeling that truck was a TW guy. When I worked out in the morning I absolutely had no interest in chatting because I was on a time crunch. Evenings, I’m not in a rush and don’t mind but totally understand that time being sacred.

So as a fairly new transplant to Wilmington what is there to do other than the beach, downtown, resturants/bars and the gym on the weekends when the fiance is working?

I saw the new one you posted in Raleigh or Charlotte, definitely like the message.
I guess I am used to the town then, other than the beach because that is what i moved from in PA. It was also a church pew or barstool kind of town.
So where are the backwoods resturants and bars to visit? The non-tourist places? The fiance and I enjoy the dive places that have great food and live music.

I’ll defer to the locals for most of that advice

24 South or Lucky Joe’s for coffee
S&L Deli for NY style sandwich shop
    Sawmill for country breakfast
Mission BBQ for Texas style BBQ

    That’s all I’ve got lol.

You want a nice place to hike or ride bikes, Holly shelter is usually pretty quiet

Macs speed shop on Oleander is pretty good for bbq as well. One thing to keep in mind about Holly Shelter this time of year is it's hunting season and it's public grounds.

Seeing as how it’s xalled holly shelter game land, one would assume. I interpreted it as a wildlife preserve

Yeah definitely not a reserve. Lol

They close the roads off after Turkey season in the spring to only hikers and bikes. No motorized traffic.

    From the webpage,

"Holly Shelter Game Land consist of 48,795 acres of land. Available for hunting half the year and hiking the other half. Hunting season starts September 8th through January 1. Primary hunting species are: deer, bear, turkey, fox, rabbit, raccoon, squirrel, quail and dove. Camping allowed in designated areas only"

:facepalm:Dude they put a public gun range up there like 2 yrs ago it's pretty nice too. Hunting there isn't that crazy my folks are always walking around there, they are big bird watchers and Holly Shelter is killer for ducks and other migratory bird.

Dude, that range has the most bizarre rules I’ve ever seen. I’ve been there once and will never go back unless I absolutely have to. I got yelled at three times then left.

What are their rules? Wonder if they are any different than the public range I go to?

I went there once when they first opened all the public ranges were self policed then. The range I go to now has an RO but he's pretty low key

Got yelled at for moving guns to and on the fire line while range was hot. Apparently all gun handling and movement can only happen while range is cold.

Also got yelled at for picking up my own brass while range was cold. Apparently the only time you can pick up brass that’s on or in front of the firing line is while the range is hot. After that, I packed my guns up and left.
