After test driving a 2019 with a sunroof, I am going to need to figure out how to adopt a "head in first" method of getting in the truck.

Seems like they make it more and more difficult to get in... or maybe I am getting older and less flexible...

I do find it easier for me to get in when there are some kind of steps. I will be getting 0 degree or 5 degree sliders to help with that.

Thats funny, just like my post above yours! :) Ride horses also? It was just habitual to get into my truck that way, same for my bike. Definitely a seat saving method!

Same here, really like my OEM boards. Never really thought of them as to reducing chance of door dings. Just one more reason I like them.

Just a gen2 TRD shift knob so far. Anxiously awaiting ovTune 1.05 with handheld tuner!
    Three Wranglers and a Taco...
zero door dings. The boards are keepers.

Which is the only reason they are still on my truck, for winter. They'll come off in the spring.

20171220_100331.jpg I'm so glad that my truck didn't have them when l bought it. I don't need the step to get in, and l sure as heck don't need to hit my leg every time l do. Besides, l like how clean the Tacoma looks without them.

Funny you say that. My wife and I have had horses all of our lives except for the last 10 years when the last one died. My wife is actually a certified western coach instructor and I've rode dirt bikes and street bikes since I was 10.

Are you running a spacer in the front? The reason why I ask is because the chamber on your truck seems out, or is it just my eyes?

Nope. Not running a spacer. l hope it's just your eyes? Now you've got me thinking about it.

I hope it's just the angle. But I've never noticed anything out of wack with the truck. Both sides appear the same

Run your hand around the tire on the outside edge. Does your hand catch on the tread in one direction and not the other? If it does rotate the tires and have an alignment done and specify that you want zero camber.

Just depends on the car. Looks at the rear doors on a Forester for instance...no running board or slider will protect you from doors like that because of the shape.

I was gonna say, with all the trapeziod shaped doors on the rear of cars nowadays, you're gonna need some big ass sliders.

Second that. My wife's Camry is parked next to my truck and the back door would definitely put a nice dent in it.

I just washed my new '18 DBSB Sport yesterday and wow the underside of the OEM running boards were filthy. Without them all that crud would have been on side of my truck, plus possibility of rock damage.
Yep, nice to have for multiple reasons in addition to the obvious.

I make a point of not sliding my ass in and out for this reason. I dont have running boards so it can be a bit of a pain.

I didn't want any running boards, but the day I picked my truck up the salesman said "you notice anything extra?"

It was the running boards...I guess you could call them that. He said he begged the dealership they got the truck from to take them off, but they wouldn't and he ate the cost.

Their aluminum, and seem pretty useless, don't think they will help with door dings and they kill my ground clearance.

Truck actually sits close to level, angle of the pic makes it look super low in the front.

If you don't mind, let me know when you sell those, I've been eyeing those but in no hurry to buy them. Don't do any off-roading and I like the way those look compared to running boards
