    Hey Guys,

I will like some feedback of people that have owned for a long period of time aftermarket grilles with the TSS. All reviews i have found are from people that have got them as new but no long terms reviews after a year or so (at least on the 2018 models.)

I'm a little torn by making a decision and perhaps you guys can help me out. I bought a Tacoma TRD Sport 2018 and will like to swap the grille to an OEM TRD Pro or aftermarket. My very first thought was to get the OEM TRD Pro just because if i am taking the truck for service at the dealer, there is nothing to worry about nor questions regarding the grille etc. However, after looking at other options i have seen good looking aftermarket grilles with the TSS and perhaps stronger/durable in comparison to the OEM TRD Pro.

    The questions:
    1. What brand you guys have? – (Post pictures)
    2. How long have you had it?
    3. Is it aluminum, metal, stainless steel?
    4. As long as you have owned it, any issues with the TSS, paint, rust etc/durability?

Sorry for all the questions but i will love to make the right decision and perhaps will help someone else with the same questions. And please, continue to revive this thread as often as you want to prevent another post if possible. Thanks in advance people!

(I have posted some aftermarket grilles with the TSS as reference except for the last one, i believe is from Meso, i think is the best looking one but they don't sell them with the TSS - sadly.)

Could you provide links or names for the grilles you posted?

That’s the Bay Area Fab model (link above) but they don’t make them with the TSS, unfortunately:(.

I love how the grille has a nice concave form/lines to it.
Despite the other ones they just look flat in my opinion.

Sub'd. Looking for this info as well, but probably a few months out from making a decision.

I just installed my pro grill this weekend after a lot of time looking at all the options. I had initially ordered from BP fab however people started reporting tss issues and while I believe he has since corrected the issue with spacers I didn't want to deal with any issues. I'm not a huge fan of any other options so I am happy to join the masses who have added the pro grill. Zero issues, super easy install, and looks so much better than stock.

I have had the aftermarket pro grille and garnish for 4 months. No problems as far as that goes.

You could fabricate or have someone do something you like that retains the OEM TSS ....just an option...

Having a blueprint and someone make it for you is always an option, I’m not sure who can make that happen here in the Raleigh NC area. Does yours grille has the TSS?

It didn’t look like it to me. Probably is because of the texture of the Toyota logo. I like!

Does anyone have any idea how the TSS actually works? I ask because some of the TSS grills I've seen have something completely blocking the system up front, others like the stock garnish from Toyota are faux blocking. I, myself have the Fleabay TRD Pro grill and have been having intermittent issues with TSS. Just trying to determine if just slapping some plastic in front of it will fix the issue.

Op, the center is the OEM TSS. Simply darkened it. All functions work as normal. I like the recessed grilles, thus this one is set back about 3 inches.

Thanks....It's about 80% complete ( a few areas need some more skim coat, then a repaint/clear). I did the fab with fiberglass gel useing my stock grille (after some obvious surgery to it). I really liked the look of the fairly rare inlaid or setback grilles, thus my motivation to hack mine up!

I used to get several false alerts on my oem grill. I upgraded to a new one from @customcargrills and it's been rock solid.
