I just ordered 6 high bay led lights for the shop. Total output... 102,000 lumens!

    Plethora of "useless" shit
It was messy out there today. Saw a few cars & trucks like that coming home along with a couple of hoods freshly strapped down and one fool driving with his hood against his windshield just driving along at about 25mph on 93.

Drove from Trinidad to Boulder today, and this was the first time ever that the clearest roads were ON Monument Hill.

Yeah this was one of three vehicles in the ditch within 100 yards of each other. The other two managed to stay wheels down though.

Messed with herbie after a half day of work.

I narrowed down the non working brake lights to either the wiring to the switches or switches themselves.

Decided now was a great time to go see how it works in the snow. Drove up weston pass, was cruising through 6"+ deep snow without a problem other than floating a little.

    1111181710a.jpg

Realized that I probably didn't have much fuel, and that wasn't the best place to run out. Cruised back to 285 and made it in to town to fill her up for her first time.

The funniest part, this thing is like a damn Cadillac on the highway compared to the tundra with its "trucks always do that" drivetrain vibration.

VW Bug is one of the best vehicles I’ve ever driven in the snow.

It drifted a little, being all of 1500 pounds, but overall it was good. Just a different feeling.

Kinda bummed that the engine is a bit underpowered. So a Baja rig might have to be a bug body on top of a higher powered Texas wheelchair. :bikewhoops:

Get a motor out of a bus. May have to do a bit of grinding on the bell housing/transaxle to get the flywheel to clear, but it'll wake that little guy right up.

Thoughts on buying a few acres of mountain property, then planting one of those Home Depot two story sheds/shabins on it.
Thinking that might be a good way to keep a home base and store some of the stuff i dont want to part with....
Insulate and wood stove with solar. Off grid living.

Hopefully not cross posting but I posted in another forum and figured this may be more helpful.

This Tacoma earned its keep saving a close friend of mines life last night. She drove it off the side of a cliff, rolled it twice, blew out all the windows , deployed the side airbags and walked away without a mark!
She's without transportation now so I'm wondering if anybody in CO that has a reliable vehicle they can part with for around $1,000? This poor girl has some crap luck (usually) and this was her baby so I just want her in something that I know won't cost her a ton of money in repairs. I'm in AZ so it's hard for me to help from here but if you know of anything or have anything that may work I'd be super thankful!

Oh and if you have any tips or advice on dealing with the insurance company and so on that would be awesome as I know some of you have gone through this before. She was issued a careless driving ticket after admitting she was driving about 15 over the limit and not paying as close of attention as she should be but she's also INSANELY hard on herself and likely made it seem like she was being more irresponsible than she was.

Won't do anything motor wise to this.. More just a learning experience and beater.

But, if I'm going to hit up Baja, I'll need more power. Supposedly this one does have a bit more power than stock, but unless it's in first, i can't spin the tires easily even on snow. But, these tires are great in snow, and larger than stock.

Fuck them, build w/o a permit. That's my next plan. Get enough property that nobody can or will see what you're up to.

And you basically can't finance land anyways, so no worries there.

Funny cause I’m a high voltage guy. I could be playing with anything from 4kv-69kv on any given day. When it comes to low voltage I’m lost. Luckily my father-in-law is a master sparky.

Yep, that can be an issue.
Glacier View is fairly lax, just need to bear proof it. They do have restrictions on size of cabin vs actual house. But not comitted to this area necessarily. The two story cabin/sheds would qualify for the most part.
Lots with previous forest fires going fairly cheap.
Cabin and land can be had for around $30/$60K if being remote doesn't bother you.
Not looking to stay thru winter, just a summer place to hang.
And it will always appreciate in value.
I've lost the desire to rent my place. Its worth enough now to sell and walk away with a fat bank account.
