Don, i wont be able to make it today. My family that is staying with me right now just found out they lost their home.
I will have to find out another way to help out. I think im needed here more right now.

 

After reading some posts and getting some messages, I want to be clear. All monies donated via PayPal go directly to our TW family members. None of it is being donated to charitable organizations. If you choose to make a donation to an organization, great!!

TW family helped us when we lost our home last year. I want to make sure our TW family is taken care of and Im paying it forward!

 

@Don5352 I have some kids sleeping bags and jackets and such, can we connect so I can get that stuff to you please?

John, I'm getting supplies together for next weekend. I have a bunch of relief items (razors, blankets, hygiene kits) going to be delivered mid week and more to be delivered here by Friday.

I'm also collecting donated items from friends and family (local). By weeks end I'm thinking I'm going to have more than I can carry in my truck. Hopefully we can get a convoy of us to take stuff up next Saturday.

@Don5352 is posting some great info on locations for us. I am also in touch with people in Chico and Gridley that will be able to give us more info as the situation progresses.

 

Logistically, my plan is a bit over ambitious. Tomorrow isn’t happening. I’m thinking Wednesday or Saturday. Let me know what works for you all so we can make this work!

 

If anyone has jackets, coats, large (and xl) sweatshirts, large (and xl) sweatpants, boots, shoes, gloves in decent to new condition... it's only going to get colder up there. Those are going to be needed items.

We have been blowing up our Facebooks trying to get out the word. I picked up a load of donations today, and we have another load to pick up tomorrow, with at least one more that will be ready before weekend.

Some shelters up there are not taking anything other than new, but others are taking anything as long as it's clean and in good shape. I have no problem going to multiple places to get things where they can be used effectively.

Also... my wife wanted to throw it out there. Conditioner is an item that many people wouldn't think of in these situations but it is a very needed item.

Also pillows, blankets, and maybe small stuffed toys. There are kids up there that have effectively NOTHING, if we can give them at least something to hang on to, it could be a really big deal.

 

If you go next weekend I might be able to participate. Also I have a Costco membership if anyone wants to get supplies from there.

 

Can someone please explain wtf is going on with the third gen forum?

I can't even attempt to explain the 3rd gen forum... because, well, it's the 3rd gen forum. The entire forum is full of people who think it's a good idea to spend $30,000-$40,000 on a truck with a stuttering engine and terrible transmission.

I can't make any sense out of that.

 

Uhm, third gen? And then asking for an explanation about that? Never really heard that come together. Not sure if it can.

Engine and transmission are fine in my truck. It’s just the howling rear end that I don’t enjoy...

Plus I’m averaging almost 20 mpg (not mph for you first gens) which is pretty ok with me.

I've been tracking mine for a while. Stock I got 18-20 sometimes a couple more. After the lift, 15 mpg. After the rear tire swingout with the tonneau cover 13 mpg. After I changed to a campershell 16 consistent.

 

It's badass you guys are doing this. If I wasn't stuck at work I'd be down to go with you guys but best of luck. You guys are the true champs imo, taking your time, energy and money to help people when everything is hitting the fan
