Harbour Freight has an extruded folding aluminum step stool that's actually pretty nice for the money. Light weight and believe it or not well constructed. On sale they sell for $19.99 reg. $29.99. Might be worth checking out. I bought one and love it. Doesn't take up much space and saved me a pocket full of cash to spend on others mods.

Haven't needed to do this in a long time, but when I did, and anybody else I knew did, we put them up against the cab. If one end of the truck is heavier, it will want to be in front.

I may go the step stool or Little ladder route. I'm thinking about buying a set of wheel skins instead of factory alloy wheels. If I go that route I can buy another TruXedo Lo Pro tonneau cover. Then I'll need a step stool to wash/dry the top of my cab.

SoCal dealers all want a market adjustment mark-up between $8-$15k above MSRP (plus CA sales tax on top of that at 9.5% where I live). I feel lucky to get it at MSRP and I will be registering elsewhere.

Wasted no time taking it away from asphalt on my trek throughout the Pacific Northwest

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
Over the summer, I picked up a 2-step stool from the local big-box hardware store (like grandma' had in her kitchen, sturdy and cheap). Later, I realized that the handle (seat back, if you're sitting on the top step) just gets in the way and the platform-type (like the one from HF) is the way to go. Just waiting for HF to put them back on sale. The stool will see some use around the garage. Already had one for the house (grandma' wasn't stupid, you know).

Not according to their website: Might be a local store thing. I'll have to check my flyer. Thanks!

I was just watching a Youtube video about that stool. I was thinking more along the lines of this steep stool. Like to have a platform to set my bucket of soapy water on while I'm washing the cab roof. There is a Lowes store about 35 miles from me that carries these for the same price.

Those are nice. I use one for housework. The top step puts me up to the top of my eight foot walls very comfortably with my 5'8" frame.

You may be correct about the sale being local, didn't think of that.

I thought about using it inside my apt. also. I don't like to call maintenance to change a light bulb even though we are suppose to. But yeah it would get you right up to the ceiling to change a ceiling fan or whatever. I like to have something I can grab hold of if I need to.

The nice thing about the HF one is that it's extremely compact when folded and takes up very little space in my bed. Saves my knees when getting in and out of the bed. For the home yours is much move versatile.

The other really handy item at HF is their rivet nut tool, also $19.99. Great for installing threaded inserts/rivet nuts in the bed. Includes both std and metric mandrels. Just used it the other day to mount a fire extenguisher bracket to hold my 4lb. extenguisher.

    Brake Upgrade Question
So, I'm not sure this is the place to post this question.

I'm looking to do a minor upgrade to my front brakes such as upgraded rotors and aftermarket pads. I don't want to spend more the $300 otherwise I'd definitely go for the SOS performance big brake kit.

Does anyone know if either of these below are any good and will it fit the Tacoma? Amazon says no, but other websites say yes.

Huh. I didn't know such a thing existed. I've used threaded inserts before, but I pressed them in (like, with a press).

Washed my truck yesterday only to have some ducks shit all over it last night.

On a more positive note, we're having duck for dinner tonight.
