Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
Over the summer, I picked up a 2-step stool from the local big-box hardware store (like grandma' had in her kitchen, sturdy and cheap). Later, I realized that the handle (seat back, if you're sitting on the top step) just gets in the way and the platform-type (like the one from HF) is the way to go. Just waiting for HF to put them back on sale. The stool will see some use around the garage. Already had one for the house (grandma' wasn't stupid, you know).

Not according to their website: Might be a local store thing. I'll have to check my flyer. Thanks!

I was just watching a Youtube video about that stool. I was thinking more along the lines of this steep stool. Like to have a platform to set my bucket of soapy water on while I'm washing the cab roof. There is a Lowes store about 35 miles from me that carries these for the same price.

Those are nice. I use one for housework. The top step puts me up to the top of my eight foot walls very comfortably with my 5'8" frame.

You may be correct about the sale being local, didn't think of that.

I thought about using it inside my apt. also. I don't like to call maintenance to change a light bulb even though we are suppose to. But yeah it would get you right up to the ceiling to change a ceiling fan or whatever. I like to have something I can grab hold of if I need to.

The nice thing about the HF one is that it's extremely compact when folded and takes up very little space in my bed. Saves my knees when getting in and out of the bed. For the home yours is much move versatile.

The other really handy item at HF is their rivet nut tool, also $19.99. Great for installing threaded inserts/rivet nuts in the bed. Includes both std and metric mandrels. Just used it the other day to mount a fire extenguisher bracket to hold my 4lb. extenguisher.

    Brake Upgrade Question
So, I'm not sure this is the place to post this question.

I'm looking to do a minor upgrade to my front brakes such as upgraded rotors and aftermarket pads. I don't want to spend more the $300 otherwise I'd definitely go for the SOS performance big brake kit.

Does anyone know if either of these below are any good and will it fit the Tacoma? Amazon says no, but other websites say yes.

    EBC Stage 3 Truck Kit

    EBC Stage 4 Signature Kit

Huh. I didn't know such a thing existed. I've used threaded inserts before, but I pressed them in (like, with a press).

Washed my truck yesterday only to have some ducks shit all over it last night.

On a more positive note, we're having duck for dinner tonight.

Anytime you can't get behind a screw or small bolt (up to 3/8") to install a nut this thing is worth it's weight in gold.
And rivet nuts as well as additional mandrels are available on Amazon.
Rivet nuts are available in SS, steel and aluminum.

I just did the S.O.S. rear disc conversion and Power Stop upgrade to the fronts (calipers, rotors, and pads) with s.s. braided lines all around. Unless you're going with "Big Brake Kit", doing anything with the fronts is generally a waste of money, IMO). The biggest improvement I noticed was in getting rid of the rear drums. Changing the front lines to braided s.s. seems to have had a slight effect also.

I should say that I was more interested in improving the feel at the brake pedal than in actual stopping power. The front upgrade made little improvement in either.

See that's what I am looking for also. The truck brakes well and fast if needed, but it started to shake/vibrate really bad. I only have 27k miles btw. I had the rotors surfaced and that helped a little, but it still does it. I want a smother braking feeling and rotors that will absorb and displace the heat better. A well-balanced rotor with holes would help and a little larger would help it absorb the heat better cause of the greater surface area.

I wasn't having any problems with shake/vibration. I just didn't like the "unpredictable" feel of the brake pedal. The new front rotors are slotted and drilled (as are the rears), but the stock diameter. Again, the changes to the front didn't make a whole lot of difference (but it's only been a week, too). If you want larger rotors, I *think* you're talking Big Brake Kit, which may involve relocating your calipers and may interfere with your wheels. Dunno', I'm not the expert.

Might want to try posing your question here:
