Quick story and need input from Toronto peeps.

So I was at the jersey store near by where I work. Due to the location, they get a lot of people from Canada who come down to shop etc. So anyways, I inquired about a Matthews jersey. Guy told me that when Toronto played Pittsburgh, that weekend he sold 4 of them to Leafs fans who shopped while down here. He also told me that 1 of the guys said that the Leafs home games are primarily bought up by businesses which makes tix hard to get and expensive. So half of why Leafs fans are known for traveling is because it is just as cost effective to go to an away game and have that experience as it is to get a ticket in Toronto. Thoughts? Any truth to that?

 

Yeah its true. That is why in Buffalo half the arena is filled with leafs fans whenever they play the Sabres. Its a short drive from Toronto and many season ticket holders can make most of their money back selling off seats to the Leafs and Habs games.

 

That is pretty interesting.

 

It’s bullshit. I know people that have lived almost their entire lives there and can only go if they score a seat with either a client or during a sales run. How can anyone enjoy that?? Selling while trying to enjoy a game. Although for the last 30 years before Matthews I guess the games were pretty crap....

It’s true. It’s cheaper to fly to Calgary and catch a Leafs game than to buy the same tickets off stub hub for a game in Toronto.
