It just makes it so you don’t have to push your foot down as far as before?

I’d have a really really tough time installing a third party product, probably made in china, in-line with my drive by wire system...

I've not read of any complaints about this product on this forum. There's a thread here, in which a member posted a full review of this product.

$300, you are half way to OV Tune. I'd go that route.

I think turbo makes more sense in my case. I worked for many years on Volvo turbos of the ‘80s & ‘90s ,and those years I was also very active on turbobricks.com. I’ve learnt there extensively about turboing theory and practice. Actually, Last I’ve driven a Volvo turbo was in 2001, when i sold my ‘97 855, but i will rejoin their group, bc theres tons of precious info on turbos on that forum. And there are many more experienced guys than me there, who wouldn’t hesitate to answer any questions that I might have on the subject.
So, this is my familiar teritory.
I’m in the researching phase on the absolute limits of the Toyota factory fi system, mainly on hiw much more flow the factory fuel pump and stock injectors can handle than stock requirements, bc my project calls for using the evilbay turbokit and factory Toyota fi system and eventually, after getting this first step done, I will decide as of the a/r and boost numbers and size of intercooler.
The 240s turbos of early ‘80s could get easily in the 350-400hp ona 2.1 motor running a T03/04 hybrid.
However, my plan calls for a faster take off the line, so I will go the T25 way more than likely.

Or I might just be and stay happy with the pedal commander!:D
So will give that a try first...

This is a great mod for the accelerator. Most replies to these threads get shit on by people who have never owned the product. I do share some of the concerns related to placing this between two Toyota components, but it's not any different than hacking your ECU and installing new, non-Toyota programming. After speaking to one of the product reps, it's my understanding that it fails closed, meaning the default pedal circuitry will still operate. Another member posted the default throttle mapping for the factory accelerator, which is programmed to attenuate the initial input signal. I verified this by connecting an O-scope to my pedal, then I checked it against my pedal commander. The results were not as simple as 'it operates the same way as pushing the pedal harder.' It's a complete remapping of the accelerator signal output to the throttle position receiver input.

You bought a 2.7 but want more power. Makes sense.

Pedal commander makes perfect sense for those who don’t understand how throttle by wire actually works...that’s what venture capitalists bet on!

    :fingerscrossed:

Thx for the input. I will try that setting first:D

    Thx for explaining this

    So, 2 votes for sport0!

I don’t want more power, just faster acceleration from a standstill. More pwr doesn’t usually achive that. At least, this is how I remember it. More pwr causes traction to break, which i hate!
The main reason for buying a 2.7 was to make it harder to break that traction on wet ground. I drove RWD turbo cars with lotsa power, that were practically inoperable on wet pavement after a light rain.

Kinda works like old fly-by-wire aviation technology? ;)
