Was about to get pulled out by the nice local with the truck at the bottom but couldn’t get to my hitch. Went to reposition the truck to get the strap secured but got lucky with ATRAC/locker and managed to send it out of the clay hole.

So if your going up this road, then you see this sign. ..TURN AROUND!!

This is FR220 to Richmond Basin...it is a horse/ atv trail NOT a track for trucks! Friend of mine coues scouting got us lost and boy did I lose about 3 years off my life! What was a moderate trail quickly turned to a 7-8 difficult easily. So steep had to use left foot to hold my body up to not fall into the pedal area...4-5' ruts, 16" rocks were the small ones, 2-3' ledges, had to stem over ruts for yards with 5' ruts right below, 1-2" too mucb either direction would have had major body damage, blew a bead, and my truck would still be there STUCK! ....at a mid point heading back down from the top some locals had pulled over due to their buddy telling them DONT do the route we just did cause the rains rutted it out to deep for their safety in their Razors!! A local named Manny saId he's been on this trail for 40 years and never seen the trail this bad or a truck on it! Ha!
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

These are the only pics taken, as you know the horrible, hand shaking, butt hole puckering shit was too much for pic stop!

BTW, stock Taco except for rock sliders,( RCI skids I had just taken off to rattle can...wah,wah) rims and 31.8" P265/75.... one dent (pillar) 3-4 frame hits 1 really bad LCA Hit and some serious smashing of the stock skid up front!
This weekend proves, good lines and great spotter will take and get you out of situations you never thought possible! Without the exhaust reroute....it would be smashed! Ha!

Hell, I thought Sun Flower Mine trail was hard....this made that look like a dirt road!

    More adventures!

Had the day off, so I grabbed a buddy and we drove down the 17 to the Lake Montezuma exit and headed south on NF-618. Took NF-215 out to West Clear Creek and explored the creek a bit.

    At the 618/215 intersection

Found a rode to a hill top which eventually lead to the discovery of a giant metal water gathering platform that fed into a small drinking hole, which was monitored by US government wildlife cameras. I'm not sure if they saw any interesting animals, but they definitely caught two guys poking around.

Picturesque road down into West Clear Creek. Had never been to this area of AZ before and was impressed at how much water and vegetation there was.

After we left West Clear Creek we headed back to the 618 to take the NF-214 east over to Lake Mary Road.

This is where the nail biting begins.

Pictures don't quite do it justice, but it took us 3 hours to go 10 miles. Needed spotting for 2 of those hours. Got to test out 4Lo though! Thoroughly! Never had traction issues, even at 32 psi, but the abundance of sharp steep rocks was disconcerting without a spotter.

Lots and lots of rocks, lots and lots of issues with stock mudflaps being bent and crushed. One front skid encounter, early on, as the spotter was learning the trucks ground clearance abilities. And several hits on the Predator Tube Step, front drivers side.

This wouldn't have been nearly as bad if the truck wasn't bone stock, but it made it through!

About 4 miles from the end of the dirt road we passed under some power wires

Trail was quite a bit more difficult than a few years ago. High centered and nearly ripped off my muffler and exhaust near the cross member on a particularly difficult stretch of the trail. Had to stack a bunch of rocks a handful of times and needed some trusty spotters to clear a few obstacles.
