No, I made dinner last night and they are all happy with me again.

Got my blood drawn, picked French toast sticks for the girls. They are having a PJ day.

I think it’s all the doc appointments and tests. They put me in a bad mood.

 

The miats bled bug juice green and that’s iron block too, a few years newer though. The radiator tanks were turning that lovely shade of “about to crack yellow” so I drained it all out.

Up to you, but I would do a flush if you’ve got it all apart.

 

Where are you seeing coolant? It was perfectly green when I drained it. It has been sitting there empty for a couple of weeks so the iron block looks like that.

Oh, @Nitori I'm going to flush it as well while I have it all apart. I am also replacing all seals, belts, AC compressor, condenser, alternator, power steering pump, rack, all the power steering hoses and reservoir, deleting the HICAS 4 wheel steer system, thermostat, water pump, radiator, hoses, right front wheel bearing, relocating the PTU module and cleaning the shit out of the engine bay.

Hoping for good news about the ankle tomorrow at the doc. I would really like to get back out on the AZT and at least finish 5/6 this weekend. I was supposed to be climbing up Mica mountain this weekend on passage 9 so I am about 60 miles behind schedule which kinda messes up my plan for getting up and over the Rincons and then Mt Lemmon before it gets really fucking cold. I kinda feel like I am at that bad stage where it feels decent but it is too soon to go back out and log 30-40 miles with 30lbs on my back.

Well after a thousand miles or so I decided to adjust the preload figuring that the coils should have been well broken in and whatever settling has probably occurred.



Pre-measurements of the unloaded length of the coils and the amount of preload measured from the top hat to the lock ring were:
Drivers - 12.25" / 1/2", Passenger - 12.5" / 3/8"










Adjustment of the collar to increase preload yielded:
Drivers - 11.75" / 1", Passenger - 12" / 7/8"


Post-adjustment with a full tank of fuel the ground-to-fender measurements were:

Drivers Front Passenger Front
36.5" / 37.5"

Drivers Rear Passenger Rear
38" / 38.5"












CV angle still seems pretty good.


For an alignment I took it over to Jack's on E Thomas - they did a good job. Sitting about 4.5 caster. I'm happy they drove it before and after to check their work and make sure it tracked straight unlike Firestone where they just laser align and call it good but no one actually drives it to check it out after. I'll gladly drive half way across town for a decent alignment.

 

Has anyone driven from the Lake Montezuma exit on the I-17 eastbound over to Happy Jack/Mormon Lake?

I have this Friday off and want to do a day trip. Curious if anyone has any feedback, or a desire to join in.

Can anyone give me housing recommendations for Flagstaff? I'll be moving up there next month/Jan. I don't really want to live in student housing, but I could put up with it temporarily if those are some of the best options. Either apartment complexes to look at or avoid, or homes or areas. My budget is in the low to mid $1000s.

I don't need anything fancy, just looking for a place that's not in a shitty area, or a total shithole itself. Biggest hurdle I'm finding online is my dog, many places aren't down with pets.
