    It’s not steering but the master cylinder. I can’t do that one since I have an electric hydro boot vs vacuum hydro boost which that one is. I need to call them And see as that’s one of my hesitations

    Thanks. I'm not averse to some hacking. I presume the outside edge needs to be flattened out? Or is it the caliper opening? or ...

    i'm not quite sure, I just bought the new dust shields. I'd imagine you'd have to keep putting the rotor and caliper on and marking what needs to be cut and repeating til it fits.

    What folks said. Stock will not work without cutting. If you get the 4Runner dust shields they are the match for the setup. Also had a buddies use them for a
    setup which doesn’t come with any.

    I wonder if the dust shields from the WH calipers fit with the WA calipers. The WH shields 47781-60120/47782-60120 run $63 ea, compared to $290 for the WA shields, 46504-60091/46503-60131. Rotors are same diameter for both calipers; the fitting has got to be close.

    Also, anyone know about Callahan Brake Parts? Their WA reman calipers run $116 for a pair and no core. They don't have a website, that I can find, but they sell on eBay and Amazon.

    Good catch. I picked the 1st 2 I saw on the Elmore Toyota website. However, each of the 4 shields run the same price. The 47781-60140/47782-60140 are now down to $52 - duly noted, thanks.

    Does not seem like it. I got the parts from them did the write up but never heard back from the guy I was working with. He may have left the company and it never materialized. Aside from that its pretty easy to source all the parts. There are not special pieces to be fab'd up. All bolt on. New calipers, rotors and backing plates.

    I dunno if LowRange is still an active member and can update one of the earliest posts...

    But I run 14WA calipers and GX470 Rotors on my 1st gen, which requires no additional modifications other than the dust shield.

    I also run a 2mm pad shim on the inboard pad so that the Pistons stick out the same amount inboard/outboard... which isn't necessary, just for piece of mind about popping pistons out as the pads wear.

    I did try 14WA calipers with the appropriate rotor, but this does not work without modifying the Calipers in a not-so-ideal manner, and I would not recommend that setup.

    What was the issue with the 14WA caliper and appropriate rotor. I was under the impression that the newer 4runner and GX use the same rotor.

    I believe the 14WA calipers do not fit well on 16" OEM wheels.

    The 5th gen 4runner and GX460 have the same caliper/rotor (14WA) the GX470 has the same diameter rotor, but the rotor thickness is ~4-5mm less than the rotor used with the 14WA caliper.

    1st gen's and 2nd gens have a few mm difference between the hub surface and the Caliper mounting surface, and it is just enough to prevent a person from properly installing a full set of brand new 14WA stuffs on a 1st gen truck.

    I'm running 17" wheels.

    Anyone know how many miles the stock rotors are good for? I've got 77k on my truck and the rotors are starting to warp. Is it worth it to get them turned or just buy new? What's the stoptech kit costing everyone?
