That's a shame! I wish more companies give workers Thanksgiving day off for everyone and not keep it open just for the profits....

 

Nope. It's now called "Brown Thursday" in the retail world.

 

Such a shame...SMH That's one thing I love about Thanksgiving day...it's about family time.

 

We never go out or shop on Black Friday. It's our family tradition to put up our tree and decorations that day. But my daughter wants to work it. She wants the money.

As for Thanksgiving day? My daughter saw $18 an hour and said, "I'm in!" for Thanksgiving (big money for a 16 year old). At least it's not until 5 pm. Plenty of time to eat and have some family time.

 

Same with Home Depot here. Xmas music has also begun on the radio.

 

Well at least she wants to do it I'm against it if you're forced to work on a national family holiday. BTW even to this day $18 an hr is a lot of money to some unfortunate people. Heck you can even flip burgers for $18 an hr

I work at a radio station so I can't escape.

 

Sirus XM has 12 Christmas stations that started November 1st.

Even the terrestrial stations start at about that time as well. We have 2 local FM stations that play exclusively Christmas music from November 1st through December 25th

 

I made $3.35 an hour through high school working a part time job at a drug store. Granted that was the mid 1980's.

I get 3 months of free Sirus/XM when I bought the 4Runner, I might extend it another year. It has pretty cool content.

 

I was flipping burgers at $4.25 an hr in high school back in the early 90s
