City sewage line is backed up (snaked 10ft beyond where our line hooks in) and sewage is flowing up out of my shower and laundry room floor drain into my house. City said they wont call one of their crews in to fix the line. When told that I have sewage flowing into my house they said I will just have to have sewage in my house until after 8am when the crew comes in on schedule.
City of Myrtle Creek, FU** YOU.

Yes, document the times and conversations. I was a LEO or dispatcher for 40 years and always, no matter what town it happened in, when sewerage was backing into a house, we called out a crew right away. I bet whoever you spoke with was wrong and it needs to be addressed.

This is absolutely correct, every locality should have an emergency crew available 24/7 to fix the line. I know it's a little late now, but if this ever happens again, you can use one of two avenues:

    1) Tell them it's flowing into the street and getting into a storm drain or stream. They have to report to and answer to the State and Feds when sewage gets into the environment, not so much when it damages personal property (they probably have insurance for that, or they're counting on the person not filing a lawsuit). You said you snaked your line. If you hired a reputable plumber, get his/her documentation that it was snaked all the way to the public connection.

    2) Threaten them with opening the cleanout on your private line to relieve the pressure. I can't advocate actually doing it, but it might give them a kick in the pants to get them to the site sooner than later due to risk of entering the environment and/or exposing the public.

Sucks you have to deal with a dud locality, hope there wasn't much property damage.

About 8 years ago all plumbing here was replaced to the city line and the city line was "repaired" due to tree roots from a tree that is located in the city easement. The cast city line was not replaced, only repaired the collapse where the connection was and about 5 feet past.
Thankfully, it didnt freeze last night. So I was able to keep the windows open to help air it out. Level only went down about half an inch overnight.
Edit: airing out didnt help much still smells of sewage and bleach.

    Todays WTF.
City maintenance guy just showed up to verify there was an issue. The city has no emergency plan and no crew members are required to show up after hours when called of they dont feel like it.
Edit: pipes cleared. They pumped em out, pressure washed, and hit it with the camera. Roots in the city pipe and pipe is messed up where they hooked the house pipe to the city. Now the cleaning process has begun. Smell of bleach and sewage kinda reminds me of the barracks at Ft. Bragg.
