The boards for Miller welders are stupid expensive

 

OH MY GAWD

Is that dust?
Is that sharpie?
Do I see scratched paint?
Tore labels?


This calls for a fullll restoration

 

500 bucks is what I’ve seen. Going to try and order it through my uncle. He gets the CTA prices

 

If I can keep it under a grand in fixing it. Was a 4,000 dollar welder new

If that's only thing wrong with it you'll have done well for $500

 

especially cheap unbranded imitation knockoff parts

seriously james, dont waste your money on that shit. if you have to, wait a little longer and save a little more and buy something proven. not that much more.

IM TOO BUSY RESTORING MY TRUCK!

 

I'd pull the boards and look for dry solder joints and bulging caps. If any are found reflow the solder replace any suspect caps and see if it works.

 

Sell me the truck. Problem solved

The main boards melted. I’m wondering if it’s because the inverters gone bad

 

What usually goes bad on those boards? When I used to fix old stereo equipment, it was always blown or leaking caps. All that stuff was analog, I never had to deal with integrated circuits.

 

I mean... the cab will be original

 

But but junk. I researched this freedom offroad. Theyre an hour away from me and Ive never heard of them, they dont even list what kind of BJ it uses. I bought cheap leaf springs and regret it all the time. By the time I was done screwing with them, I couldve bought Alcans. Do it right the first time, no matter how long it takes.

 

I've never seen someone buy brand new doors. That was a first.
