One more video spam from me, something that is not water o_O

The climb side of this hydroline hill is easy, the other side we go down on is much much steeper. I have not been able to go up the way we come down yet.

    Going up

    Heading down, nice and slippery:cookiemonster:

Don’t remember that from the last time. The layer of snow doesn’t help the memory too much. I have to make another run out there during the summer.

Yea it was one of the side shoots that we did not take, since I was not lifted or really able to off road yet.

Lots more fun options to enable 4x4 now that the truck is capable of doing the fun spots.:cookiemonster:

Good to know. I am thinking some of us will be trying to explore that region for some camping and general exploration. I should start planning I guess. Maybe make our way to Thunderbay or something

I would really consider the 1/8ths if you plan on hitting rocks. If your planning on doing moderate trails or what not the 1/8ths may work. However my 3/16 skids have been repaired multiple times because of the rocks. Again I don’t necessarily pick the best lines as I rely on the skids for my “incompetence” if you will.

The bend on my mid skid. Notice it is at the 90 degree bend which should be the strongest part.

    My fix.

Now they do offer 1/4” thick skids. There obviously has to be a limit between weight and needed protection. If you feel 1/8ths will work then by all means. Just giving my 2 cents as I have damaged thicker skids (again my driving and line choice isn’t always the best and you may feel that the weight to protection ratio is in your favour)—> @Norilsk is running aluminum skids with no issue....kinda lol

    nevermind the strength

Eugene posted pics from the expo east thing.
the ARB skids rob ground clearance from the way they mount.

But ya the strength is also not enough. I'd say go steel. That 1/8th is just like the factory skid.
need something stronger. The mobtown skids are great, very happy with mine.

i got my full mobtown set for 700CND shipped to my mail box in niagara falls in a group buy

I'd say keep an eye out for another. The ARB ones are more so for touring not so much the offroading we do at Ardbeg or minden.
Id say the ARB is much more like the factory stuff its more so for small bumps and minor or limited/one time use kinda thing.
Not really designed to take the repeated abuse.

If I dented my 3/16 a decent amount rather close to where the front diff is I'd say that 1/8th would just fold and cause damage or bend in a way where it will be a bitch to remove.

And I dont think you could lift off that ARB skid vs the mobtown I lift off of all the time.
