Go rob some Nuclear materials from some Libyan Nationals, and you can work for North Korea.

If Doc was ethical, we wouldn't have such a great trilogy.

Your first problem is that you chose a vehicle related part as your 1st welding project. I had the same dumb idea with a brush guard for my '92 pickup, albeit it turned out kinda OK with the help from my high school collision repair teacher. Make furniture first. Its easy to fabricate and its easy to cover up mistakes. I learned a lot from doing a set of these lamps out of scrap tubing.1112182121.jpg
Theres probably 5 pounds of flux core wire in this fire pit. A lot of arc time in this one. IMG_20170225_153127138.jpg
Just start with simple stuff thats not critical that it looks pretty.

You think I wanted to spend this semester cutting lettuce at a grocery store? Hell no. But I agreed to do it cause I know its temporary and its money. I got screwed over by auto parts managers who wasted my time cause they never told me they wanted a full timer until I was 3 interviews and a month into the process. I gave up on having a "cool" job after that. Do what you gotta do for money. I tossed pizza dough at 16 and landscaped during the summers, until I got out of high school and a family friend asked me to weld for him. Hoping to go back there next semester since my schedule may allow it.

Good advice. Ask around and you can probably find someone like myself or my neighbor who has a box full of random metal bits you could use to practice with

I'm allergic to all melons and my job has me handling/prepping them all the time. I just deal with the hives.
