I did my own. Didn't really need it but was bored so why not. I've done several others and figured if I was going to do it I may as well do it all the way in case I want to go up to 34's or so in the future. I've done several many just basic for 33's and many I have seen on here aren't really cut enough for me. For larger than 33's a bit more has to be done. I don't buy over priced plates my total cost for steel in this was about $6 for 3/16" steel. I cut all the way back to the frame in the one pic I hadn't finished yet and there's still a bit sticking out from the frame. The first few I did for 35's I fabbed the plates across the front and end and had a corner at the end. We figured out quickly this still would make contact so I started rounding the ends and no more rubbage. Don't be affraid to cut! I like makeing my own plates 1: it's cheaper and 2: I can then cut as much as I want.

I originally posted a few pages back when the bedliner they put on covered up these open gaps. Any reason for concern (other than it looking bad)?

sorry to re open this 4 year old thread, but what tools do you guys recommend using for the cmc? I'm planning on cutting to the circular part and boxing in the other end. thanks

 

Angle grinder with a 4"cutoff wheel made for quick work on mine.
