I might be able to help bring stuff up Saturday with my kids to drop off. If guys are willing to get it to one location then we can load up and head up. Any ideas where to head to and drop off up there?

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
@Don5352 is getting a bunch of really good info about places to drop off.

I also have friends in Gridley and Chico. It's kind of funny... the friend in Chico is my ex girlfriend and the friend in Gridley is my wifes ex husband, funny how situations like this does that.

Ryan (in Gridley) is already helping at the VFW Hall in Live Oak and is getting info for other areas. He's also in touch with charities up there to make his business a staging area.

Kathleen has a bunch of co-workers that have been evacuated she's helping, and is getting info on shelters in Chico area.

By the end of the week, I think we have the resources to have a good plan on exactly where to go.

If anyone has jackets, coats, large (and xl) sweatshirts, large (and xl) sweatpants, boots, shoes, gloves in decent to new condition... it's only going to get colder up there. Those are going to be needed items.

We have been blowing up our Facebooks trying to get out the word. I picked up a load of donations today, and we have another load to pick up tomorrow, with at least one more that will be ready before weekend.

Some shelters up there are not taking anything other than new, but others are taking anything as long as it's clean and in good shape. I have no problem going to multiple places to get things where they can be used effectively.

Also... my wife wanted to throw it out there. Conditioner is an item that many people wouldn't think of in these situations but it is a very needed item. Also pillows, blankets, and maybe small stuffed toys. There are kids up there that have effectively NOTHING, if we can give them at least something to hang on to, it could be a really big deal.

Just texted an old friend and neighbor who I knew lived near Chico, turns out he is in Chico but his dentistry office is in Paradise and thankfully it’s still standing, this was their commute out when they had to evacuate B1A4A0C4-3337-48C3-B9D3-FEE09A99FFB5.jpg

The rate of spread amazes me. Detwiler -“my” fire-covered over 15 miles in 36 hours.

Don’t relax because you think it’s too far away to get you.

Headed to the store and then post office to send off a care package to @Whitebutler.

I need a couple more folks to step forward and I can make it a nice round number in gift card value to mail!

Ok brothers and sisters... I need help :help:

I've got WAY more stuff than I can carry in the truck on saturday. I've already picked up 2 truckloads of donation items including jackets, boots, bedding, clothes, a playpen... there is stuff on the way from Amazon, and we'll be making a trip to Wally World as well.

@CalTacoma09 is in... but I think we're going to need at least another truck to carry what I already have... and there's more donations to be picked up.

Who else is in for a road trip towards the fire on Saturday???

Looks like we'll also be meeting up with @Don5352 and possibly @rob1208 @Fernando and @jqueener, in Sac, on the way up.

I want to personally thank you all! Seeing you jump in and give and give. Not just of your money but your time and your love in a time when folks need it most.

Having ‘been there, lost that’ you need to know what you are doing truly matters!

In a way, it kind of pains me to not be in this fight with you (living in SW Utah now puts me at a disadvantage...)
My husband and a few close friends have witnessed it. As a retired first responder (LEO) this kind of stuff brings me to life. It’s what I was born to do, it’s where I thrive and perform my best, and I dearly want to be in the heart of this. Until it’s settled, I will hardly sleep. I need to know my TW friends are safe. Believe me, if i didn’t have obligations right now, I’d be there with you.

Thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU! From the bottom of my heart.

Thank you too! For your time and thoughts. I'm planning on taking lots of pictures of what we see and do this weekend. Hopefully seeing it happen can help you feel more a part of it.
