Going black was one of the best decisions I made on the build. I used spray on bed liner for the chrome up front and then threw on smoked wade headlight covers and bug guards.

I'm pretty hard on them and usually have to replace them every couple of years.

Thanks! Those wheels weren’t easy to find in my area. I normally run these.

ok I’ll get in on the action cause I rarely post. Here’s my 2000 V6 xtra cab TRD. Bought the truck in 2011, bone stock with the exception of a set of rims and a topperBE8FB2E4-6C67-441D-8795-54EBAEB49061.jpg the truck 2 days after I bought it

4A23DF19-69C8-49D1-9011-DE582473F333.jpg And as it sits today! I’ve put A LOT of time, effort, and money into this truck. It’s my second first gen Tacoma, and my second 98-00. I just love the look of these trucks!

It's dipcoat. But I'll bedline it after hunting season is over. I'll post the results.

Why did you change out the ARB for the Trail Gear bumper? Your truck looks great btw!

2 reasons... first the ARB was starting to rust. Second I wanted a lighter front bumper. I really did like the ARB but something had to be done. The whole bumper change started with me trying to change my steel cable in my badlands 12k winch

Oh what a bummer on the ARB. My front bumper has see much better days and I really like the look of the ARB on 98-00 tacos so I'm waiting for a good deal on either an ARB or pipe bumper like the trail gear.

So far I’m happy with my trail gear. Haven’t gotten out wheeling with it yet

    Dear Everybody,

You know somebody has a thread on Tacoma World of how to convert a 1998 to 2000 Tacoma front end to a 2001 to 2004 Tacoma front end. This is very strange to me because, personally, I think the 1998 to 2000 Tacoma front end is the best looking of the entire first generation Tacoma series.

    Take it easy,
    Paul

I think it’s the ugliest... square, boring, plastic, ugly.

Well... it’s mostly the bumper that makes it ugly. Change the bumper and they do clean up nicely
