Yes it will reach but some would like the harness to clip into the factory locations. Using the existing harness requires a rerouting method with zip ties.

Sub’d to read up on how fix the TSS error with the fleabay grille.

I’m wondering if I installed the sensor incorrectly, when I pulled it off my chrome Limited grill, the text on the sensor was upside down and I installed it right side up?

Without the extended harness, I believe that you will see the wiring harness through the grill. I want to avoid that look, so I'm going to order a harness.

Just punched in my order from I-5 parts, in for a grill, garnish, and extended harness.

I guess I just don't notice it, but I'll take a look. I just clipped the things into available slots on the grille. If it bothers me maybe I'll order one.

Oh, and how much did they charge for shipping?

once I installed garnish, my errors went away. Was using thin plastic before, which worked intermittently.

The OEM TSS garnish I assume? The glossy one, unfortunately?

So there seems to be mixed opinions on whether you need to recalibrate the sensor after installing the new trd pro grill. What is the consensus here? Looking to install the grill on a stock off road with stock tire size. Will eventually be getting lift, wheels, and tires but that is later down the road.

I installed mine yesterday with the garnish. Drove it around for a bit testing all the features and what not, (knock on wood) didn’t have any error readings pop up on the dash and everything worked perfectly as before. I’m gonna continue to monitor it to see if any errors pop up over the weeks but I’m thinking it will be okay without the need for recalibration.

I read a lot of threads before I installed mine. Seems like if you use the oem garnish plate you're fine. If you don't it gives errors.
    No issues here.

When you install the grill with the garnish it will work and won't display any errors but it won't be aimed correctly. It will work but it won't be accurate but you will probably not notice anything. The problem is if you take it to the dealer to have it calibrated there are no specs on aligning it because there isn't a Pro grill installed on Sport, OR or SR5. The Pro truck has a different ride height than the other models. When your aligning the front millimeter radar sensor your setting up a target at a certain distance and height. Those measurement are not given by Toyota for a Pro grill on other models. When install the Pro grill the sensor ends up in a lower position and sticks out a little farther on OR, Sport and SR5 than the stock location so the target distance and height for the original grill won't be accurate. By subtracting the height distance and the protruding distance from the target position numbers you can get an accuarate targetposition. Good luck explaining all this to the Toyota Tech.

Bought a used genuine Toyota PRO grille from a '16-'17 for my '18. I went ahead and got the Toyota garnish and wiring extension to use with my transplanted radar sensor. So now the grille looks and functions just like a '18. So far no errors or problems.

And here is a TIP on how to seperate the grille from the painted surround:

I used some of the interior trim removal tools made from nylon to lightly pry the chromed bezel away from the painted surround on one side of the grille assembly while I depressed the tab for the mounting tab on the other side. Doing so allowed me to detach one tab at a time, that is, work it's way back through the mounting hole.

I started where the chromed bezel is the most loose from the painted surround and then worked my way all around the surround.

Got it off with no broken tabs.

Take your time, just do one tab at a time.

Are people really having issues removing these without breaking tabs? I removed mine quite easily and didn't have to force anything. I just pressed on the releases and the tabs popped out easily.

Mine was a PITA. I took my time and still ended up breaking a few on both the outer chrome trim piece and the grill itself. After I got a few popped out the rest started to release pretty easily. Oh well, don't plan on putting it back in.

Before and after below. The new wiring harness was worth it IMO - it comes pre-assembled with the plastic strain relief clips that perfectly align with the routing channel clip points on the TRD Pro OEM grille. No sensor errors yet, drove it for awhile today and tested cruise control. Difference in mounting height on the sensor between the two is approximately 4" (mounting location on non-Pro grille is 4" higher).

Does anyone know the part number for the clips that hold the TSS wire into the grille/back of the stock sensor housing? AB94BD53-A02C-4DBE-93DF-54D5E679C5C4.jpg
