Good idea -- I hope! Because I just finished doing that to it. Needs to set overnight, and then I'll put oil back in it and purge it and put it back in and cross my fingers. All I really want is to get the rest of the season out of it.

    Ok

It’s not cold were you are. So water won’t freeze.
Did you hit something with it?
If not she dun blowed up. Looks like
Didn’t follow the conversation but that’s a doozie...

Per the news, 6700 homes lost now in the Camp fire here in N Kalifornia by Paradise, west of me 60 miles or so. A friend who lives down there in Paradise has not returned my call from this morning. 9 people reported dead now, at least 5 burned in their car. That has got to be worse than drowning. My friends neighbor called authorities on him when he was thinning some trees on his property. Wonder what they think now?

Good morning Susan, gang. Let the Repo pup out this morning, he was off like a shot, at least three deer by my garden, all really running all out. In a few seconds he comes hauling ash back, a big doe on his tail. I scare her, she runs off, Repo takes off again, in a few more seconds here a doe comes back, hauling ash again, I shout her away. Repo stays this time, the deer disperse. Too funny.

    Afternoon all:

That's tragic news Duane, shame that those fires are occurring on a regular basis.

:annoyed:  :( FINALLY had a legal buck in range, AND MISSED IT! :frusty: Had another legal buck run by me at about 70 yds., plus saw 8 other deer and my buddy saw 8. We have 1 more day, there's still hope!

Well, the mower is back together. And it moves! Under its own power!! Without pissing a trail of oil!!!

The true test will be tomorrow when I try hoovering up leaves again. :fingerscrossed: The yard is a swamp in a lot of places but I have to do what I can.

I'm going to mulch the bazillion leaves that are in the yard! 1st I'm going for hard rolls, cut 'em in half and butter the crap outta them and have a big glass of milk.
Mower gets fired up at 8 sharp :)

My leaves have gotten way to thick to try to mulch. About ten years ago a friend sold me his Echo back pack blower.used it for several years before the carb crapped out on me.Bought a new one for it.Took the screen out of the exhaust pipe and bored the (exhaust) hole out to the next size.Sounds liked it picked up another 500 rpm from the combination of improvements.

Good for you for fixing that. I had a Simplicity mower and the I think I had the same issue. I just bought a new John Deere. I think the Simplicity did a better job. Not as much scalping.

I started to put engine hour meters on our small engine tools. Only cost about $12 for the meter.

    Nice job on the repair.

Started the build on a 4X8 shed this past weekend. The ground was excavated and block foundation was installed. The floor was built and set into place. Starting the wall frames tonight. The lumber for the frames is on site in the garage.

I did the same thing three years ago.
Went from long tubes to bulbs. Triple the wattage 1/3 the cost.

The leaves got hoovered up, FINALLY. They were on the ground for so long, and through so much wet weather, that I'll have to go back over everything to pick up the stuff that is stuck down. But the big part is done. Whew. The patch held, but it is seeping a wee bit of oil. It didn't do that when I tested it, of course! It only showed up after I had been running for a while and the oil got really warmed up.

On the one hand I think "I can add another layer and see if it seals up" but on the other hand I think maybe I'll just let it go. It truly is the end of life for this machine. I looked everywhere for a replacement hydro unit and found none. Not even an old broken one I could steal the casing from.

Speaking of mulching leaves -- by using the mower to pick them up I am mulching them. The mower chops 'em to bits.

I converted recessed can lights to LED kits and it shorted out the 3-way dimmer switches. I didn't know that not all dimmers are compatible. I do now!

Mine has a motion sensor so the lights come on when I open the garage door.
    It would pulsate..
Found a solution for an old guy online. (Mmmmmmm that don’t sound right)
Used a duel light fixture with a incandescent bulb on one side to add a load to the system.
    Stopped the pulsation.

I replaced the fluorescent bulbs with LED bulbs with no issues. Used the same ballast which was a plus. The cost per tube was $10 at the time and I have 20 tubes. Did it month by month I four bulb fixture at a time. I went with the 5000K temperature bulbs not the 6500K bulbs. Light is perfect for doing projects and working on vehicles in the garage/

    Evening all:
Looks like winter has arrived, measured close to 8" at the house. :(
Made an appointment for the scheduled service on the Tacoma on Wed, then will continue on to Wernersville Pa. to get a set of new limbs put on the crossbow. Figure I'm almost halfway there at the dealer, so might as well kill two birds with one stone!
One of the limbs has a splinter coming off of it, called the mfg. and they told me they would replace both limbs under warranty and that I could either send them in or take it to an authorized dealer for warranty work. Luckily this dealer is not too far from me, and good to know if something were to go wrong during the hunting season that I could be back to hunting within a day or two.
