Epsom salt is a life saver. I had issues with toe nails in high school which ultimately ended up with surgery at the Doctors. Not fun.

Seems to be doing a bit better, for now at least. I'll take what I can get. I weld all night straight , and that's my wire feeding hand. Was a bit uncomfortable

Interesting bit of info I found in the Auto Trailer's manual:
    "Other Hitch Systems

Weight distributing or sway control devices ARE NOT USED for towing an auto transport trailer. Towing a properly loaded auto transport trailer does not require these devices. These devices may have a negative effect on vehicle handling and braking and may restrict the operation of the trailer coupling mechanism."

I'm not sure but i feel like they are talking about a different type of auto transport trailer. I can't imagine why a uhaul trailer wouldn't apply but then again I'm certainly no pro.

You can not use a weight distribution hitch with a surge brake activated trailer. I don't know what the U-haul trailer will be but if it doesn't have surge brakes, then you not only have to buy a hitch, a drop and ball, and a wire harness- you also have to get a brake controller.

Uhaul says they have surge brakes so I'd only need the drop & ball technically. I'm on the interwebs of knowledge to see what others have done with their Tacos and see feasibility beyond suggestions/advice from you guys. Definitely going to run the real numbers like @js312 suggested. Uhaul states they want the tow vehicle at or above 80% of the total trailer weight.

Well you will be over the 80% easy. And I doubt they weigh or factor your car, so they are likely using the max GVWR of the trailer which if it's a dual axle is probably 7000lbs or more. I think your first course of action should be to call U-haul and talk to someone and tell them what your vehicle is and what trailer you are looking to rent because I have heard multiple cases of people getting turned down trying to rent trailers to tow with their Tacomas. I actually think it's somewhat blacklisted. You may find this to be a non-starter right there.

I'll echo what others have said, you can do it but it'll be right at the limits of the truck and not a great idea for your first tow if there's snow on the ground. Uhaul trailers are a gamble also, sometimes they're maintained, sometimes they're a complete piece of crap. For a tow of any distance, it's helpful to know what you're getting into before hooking on to one of their trailers. I rented a trailer from them a couple years ago and turned down 2 trailers before they came up with one I'd actually tow. The wheel bearings on 2 of them were absolutely shot!
x2, no weight distribution on Uhauls. I'd really push to wait for a nice weekend and drive the 'Stang.
