I bought my blower used like 5 years ago. I couldnt pass up the deal as it had everything needed (which is usually the problem with used kits, they are missing a lot of stuff), new fit kit, injectors, etc. It went through 2 other members before me.. as they never installed it and used it towards trades. I knew it was just sitting locally, so I snagged it. best decision ever. got it for half price... think I was in it 3500 all said and done.. installed and everything.

Looks like a Gen2.5 TRD Sport, but really an '08 TRD OffRoad
    TRD Supercharged / OTT Tuned
(DISCLAIMER: Mpgs data measured by UltraGauge)

With the blower and mods and 35s (stock gears) with trd tune, i was getting ~14.2mpg with CA 91 octane gas. 90% stop-n-go city driving.

With all the same variables (maybe heavier foot) except with OVT software, my mpgs have dropped to ~13.0.

In my opinion, only buy a used kit if every part (sans common nuts/bolts) is accounted for or verified that its there. The TRD blower manual has a list of all the items in the kit.

Its too much of a headache to be in the middle of installing a used kit only to find parts that are missing. Usually not worth the $ saved with used vs new.

Good to know... Who am I kidding I'm just gonna drive fast everywhere if I ever get an SC lol

Wow, 3500 total is a heck of a steal... Great job on that find. I guess I'll have to really familiarize myself with what comes in the new kit if I want to make sure I don't make a mistake if I ever do go for a used one.

Hey guys, so I got a CEL this morning. Hooked up my wireless OBD and it showed a P0606 confirmed code and P0138 pending code. The readout on my phone said the P0138 was for the high voltage on the O2 sensor. The app I have paired with the scanner has a bunch of readouts and lots of data but I’m unsure what the O2 readouts are supposed to be.

    E9A39C00-E622-4697-89DD-E7572D58A645.jpg

Sensor 1 is always at 0 and sensor 2 fluctuates. I do have the rear O2 simulators installed so I’m not sure what difference that would make.

Since I had stuff to do I drove with it on and would figure it out when I got home. Truck sat for about 20 minutes parked and when I turned it on and got the scanner hooked up and everything the CEL turned off on its own. No confirmed or pending codes. O2 sensor 1 still reads at 0 on that info screen.

Anybody have any idea what that unit of measure for the O2 sensor is?

Just wanted to see if anyone had some quick insight before making a new thread. I think I have an irrational fear of starting new threads lol

I emailed yesterday about it. I'm eager to see what's new and improved.

Some news guys. I have all the tools and know how to get a custom tune from mat @OVTune. My s/c needs maintenance but I should have a custom tune to report on in a couple weeks.

Are you getting a custom tune with the handheld or do you have the flash kit?

Is that gonna cost extra if you already have the handheld tune? Patiently waiting for your results of a custom tune.

IIRC, they're supposed to be custom tunes tailored to each purchaser not just a blanket tune. Or at least they where advertised originally as that. It's been a year this friday since first being offered. Only a few had been tuned prior to that. It's been slow going to get everyone taken care of, but progress is being made as far as I can tell. I think everyone who has purchased a handheld is able to use them now and most if not all ecu ID's 05-15, SC'd and NA, are covered at this point.

I'll be on a hiatus from this thread while I replace my motor.

    @OVTune

I have a magnuson supercharged truck using the bully dog tuner to deliver my tune to the ECU.

From what I can understand the bully dog would get removed and the OV tune would be flashed onto the truck. My question is since I dont have the TRD tune, how will the truck perform with just the stock tune? Will I see any real performance improvements over the current magnuson tune with bully dog?

The truck is going in to KRave automotive in Calgary on Monday to get the tune done.

From what OvTune told me around a year ago you have to send your ecu to him to overwrite the bully dog tune. Don't know if this has changed but there is no other way to get rid of the bully dog tune otherwise. Only other option is to buy a replacement ecu.

You cannot use a stock tune at all with the supercharger.
