X2. I've towed in the past and plan on towing more once I get a car hauler. @micwillia the tundra is here. I may also be able to borrow a car hauler. I also have a buddy that has a side business (commercial tags, insured, the whole nine) if you want to go that route. He is reasonable on prices. Here is his setup

Those aren't bad ideas, I'm not opposed to paying for it to get there. I guess I'm dependent on price; as much as I love her, it's not worth paying an arm and a leg to get her to the garage.

    Hi Mike,

Ok, sorry it took so long to reply. Been stupid busy and haven’t been able to check in. I wanted to get caught up on the thread before replying. I didn’t want to jump the gun in case someone already did.
A tow dolly would be your best bet. Takes all the weight off the truck physically. I know there are no brakes on a dolly. But, honestly, for what a mustang weighs you’ll be fine.
First you’d need to find out if the mustang is ok to roll in neutral all the way up. I would think it was since it’s a manual. I towed a 2wd ranger on a dolly. It was a manual and ford stated it was fine. Some automatics cannot due to the tranny not pumping oil and burning up the tranny. I’m pretty sure that’s not the case for you.
Uhaul will tell you if your truck is capable. I towed a Honda Accord with my first gen 4 cylinder and it was a breeze.
Obviously if weather conditions are crappy that would be a factor. But that’s what I would do. It’s economical and prob your best bet. Just my 2 cents

I was originally planning on doing that since the stang is M/T but when I searched it; I found that Ford didn't want that to happen. Post #2 looks like they want the driveshaft disconnected if you are doing any kind of distance or speed. Some contradicting info regarding doing that to an M/T #1 & #2 That's the fun of the internet you see both options all the time, so you have no idea which one is right.

I think on a manual you’d be fine. If it was a 1500 mile tow then I’d be more concerned. You’re going how far? 250-300 miles?
You also have the option to back it onto the dolly. The drive wheels are off the ground. Make sure the steering wheel is locked.

Some manny trannnies use the input shaft to do the majority of the oil slinging. For instance, the NP435 in my '84 will eat itself in short order if you tow the truck any distance without the transfer case in neutral, since the gears are spinning but not the input shaft. Not sure about the Mustang manuals, but just a thought.

And placed an order for sliders. Hoping to pick up tube front and rear bumpers this weekend. The stack of parts continues to grow :D

If it came from nail trimming invest in one of these..

I bought 2 sets after a christmas day nightmare in 2008..wow 10 years ago...I had a little hangnail and bit it off...which come to find out is the worst thing next to scraping it off with cat litter scooper...So it starts swelling and I try all the crap they say to try and it just isn't getting better. It got to the "A feather touches it and I'll confess to the Kennedy assassination" stage so I went to the hospital on christmas night at 10pm. Needless to say they had the B crew working at that hour/day. The waiting room at the ER was a 2 hour affair...and then after an hour in the exam room the intern trainee doc rolled in, took a look and fetched the lidocaine...after 6 or so painful injections he said he'd be back in 10 min to lance it...45 min later he comes back in and sits down...he pokes the swollen finger...good news, no pain. He reaches for the scalpel on the tray and knocks the ENTIRE tray of tools on the floor..."Ooops, I have to go get another set up"....That's when I took this picture
    [IMG]
Forgive the 2008 cell phone pics I found in my external drive backup...
So I sit there for another HOUR! He finally comes back in with a fresh tray, sits down and then pokes my finger with a wooden q-tip..."OOOOUCHH!"
"Oh no" he says "The lidocaine has worn off. Let me go get another setup"
    "NO!" I say..."Just lance it"
"Well...that's really going to hurt." he says...
"Just do it...I'll grip the table and we'll be done in 2 seconds"
    "Ok...1...2...3..." Sliiiiiiiicccce
I do the Yahhooohoohhooeee that goofy does on disney movies...boy did that not feel well..but it actually made me laugh at how much it hurt. It was very maniacal and it definitely scared the doc...It bled a lot but after that...ohhhh...the pressure was gone, bandaged up...it felt so much better. It also healed SO FAST because it was such a clean cut.
So anyways...that's why I use the cuticle trimmers :)
