It's all good. I just want to make sure I have one if my current one is bad. Nothing worse than being stranded on a DFW highway at rush hour. I did go out at lunch, check all my fittings, and then find a frontage road that appeared lonely. I think the homeless guy under the overpass appreciated me disturbing his slumber. No code and 9 psi.

 

I’d really like to get another vehicle that’s 25 years or older. So the emissions part and the OBD part is less of a complication.

On a good run I can hit 10, just not in the distance I had at lunch. I hit 10 this a.m., held it for a few seconds, and then boom. Check engine and the trac-off light came on. It actually made me laugh, and then I got concerned that something had really happened. No black smoke. No parts on the ground behind the truck. I've blown two engines. I'm familiar with the signs.

 

In the taco? Dare I ask how?

 

A 454 in a work truck pulling a trailer in the middle of BFE NM, and a little 4 cylinder in a GrandAm driving down the highway. Apparently there was a known flaw in the Pontiac motor where a bolt backed off the oil pump. I found Toyota shortly thereafter.

I’ve thought about this all afternoon. 16 psi. At some point here it seems new rods would be a good idea. Do we know where failure is? @Torspd probably can tell us.

 

Stronger rods anytime would be a good idea. Preferably before the block decides to be perforated.

 

The real question is when does the heat from psi start to diminish the TRD blower?

 

Depends on how much 'alternative' fuels you use. Or add ice to the coolant system.
