Noticed the rear seat belts catching as shown in the picture. It does this on its own. It's starting to wear a hole into the belt. I'll be taking this in for warranty but it sure looks like a future recall to me. Major safety issue. Anyone else have this? I assume if you use your back seats all the time, you will.

Use the clip to hold the belts in place.

I use the clip as well so it doesn't rattle on the plastic, but that doesn't seem like a very smart design on the seatback hinge.

So does mine. The belts catch this spot when you're wearing them. The clips are just for storage/when you're not using the belts to keep them from flapping when the windows are down.

It does it because the user lets it. Belts don't move on their own.

There are retainers to place the belt in.

It does it because it's a shit design. You shouldn't have to clip the belt away so it doesn't shred itself every time you get out of the car. Seriously, my son and friends should clip their belts away 5 times a day? Lol, no. Name one other modern car in existence where you put the belt in a retainer each time you get out.

How does the belt rub there when you are using it? It looks too high. I will have to check mine.

Just by someone getting in and out of the car daily, the belt migrates into that spot by the bottom seat hinge.

Gotcha. The hinge or belt needs protected better IMO.

I remember in the old days, GM cars had these long plastic sleeves at the end of the belts. Looks like you need that. Lucky for us, china has got one just for us.

Yep. Guess GM figured this out in the 80's but a modern Toyota, no. Clip those seatbelts in and out all day like some people on here say. Let's see, my son goes on 3 trips a day in the back x 2 clips each x 5 days x 52 weeks/yr equals 1,560 belt clips a year. Haha.

Nit picky? Pretty sure you want a seatbelt that hasn't been shredded if you get into a crash at 70 mph.
