We just found this old glider and craigslist and we just cannot figure out what color to paint it after it's all sanded down...

I've thought about painting the seat yellow and the pie-crust squares white...

Or the Frame in black and the rest in a pale green....

Or polyurethane all over it to preserve that "i've been in a barn since the 1940s kinda look"

    So TW, I ask WWTWD?

    A few bolts are different.
I automatically think of fried chicken and watermelon when I see that.

Honestly you should leave it as it is, just clean it up.

^^ what he said just wash it real good and leave it be. If you paint it that takes away the originality

I do think it looks pretty cool as-is, I just want to protect it from rusting through as it will be spending its life outside.

You can see about 4 different layers of paint that it's gone through in its life... Dark Green, Grey, White, Sea-green and possibly a lighter red/orange but that might just be primer/rust. So whatever color I do will just be another in it's 70 year history. If i do paint it that is.

I would leave as be and try to find you some of that clear coat spray paint that sprays on flat. It should still protect it but not shiny it up or anything.
