Too be fair the Leafs setup massive screens outside for fans at home games. Also it’s not like there are any cheap season tickets available for any Canadian team. Going to games is not a normal family activity and hasn’t been for decades. The tickets I have for tonight in Edmonton are $320 each face value lol.

 

The building is half empty but technically sold out lol. Corporate tickets often go unused. It did fill up a little better after the two minute warning but not great especially for a Habs game.

Soft penalties keep the game fast by discouraging obstruction type fouls and calling more penalties increases the amount of time teams spend on special teams, which is exciting to many fringe and mainstream fans. It’s not a fluke, it was the same in the Oilers game I was at tonight. If a stick even came close to the hands it was a hook and if someone fell down over an active stick it was a trip.

My biggest compliant would be consistency. It sucks that we get used to watching this level of officiating only to watch the whistles disappear in to the mist come playoffs. I’d like to see that change, either way, so that the bar is always the same. Either allow the shit or clamp down on it but make a decision on which game we get to see all year.

 

The Leafs were going to beat down on the Kings no matter what. After that frustration against Boston, the Kings were easy prey to vent on with a bounce back effort.

 

It's at the point I don't even watch. I just look at the score after the games and laugh. The Kings of today are worse to watch than the crappy team before they won the cups. They use to be the underdogs that fought their way into every game win or lose. Now they don't give a crap. They have their high post cup contracts and have no incentive to even try anymore.

 

Still not at the game though just a way for a concession stand to grab cash most likely but during the Raptors run it looked pretty interesting.
I have seasons in Calgary and they aren’t that bad at all for price but they aren’t the best seats just decent. $320 are pretty damn nice seats, but you could get them unlike in TO.

I would love professional sports to get back to the point where an average family gets tickets to a game at least once a year but I don’t think we will ever get back there.

Yeah man I was rooting for them in 2012 like no other. I only started watching them a few years before that. Like 1993. If they don't give a crap about playing why should I give a crap about watching?

 

You can if you drive to Buffalo. They often run deals for a family of four that includes four tickets to the game and food vouchers for I think 100 bucks.

 

I live in the west. I get my Leafs fix when they come to Calgary usually. The company I work for also has season tickets there and I also know other season ticket holders so usually I can grab a few seats for a very fair deal or for free.

I know my relatives in Ottawa often get pretty good deals as well for upper level seats since they rarely sell out. Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver are where it’s harder to find a deal below face value especially if the team they are playing that night is a division opponent or a team with a large fan base locally.

 

Ya I actually was ripping a kings fan today because he was going on about Doughty. He thought I was stupid for saying LA would trade him for a package like Nylander+Liljigren +1st. I know it's not realistic but he didn't understand how bad the kings need to rebuild

 

I got Habs season tixs if you are interested. Actually gave a set of preseason leaf ones away. Face value is pretty reasonable and we never ask more and comes with free food and drinks. Sick seats, I'm going the last game if the year. Well unless the playoffs are on the line and the price is sky high then I'll sell lol
