Need Help Finalizing My System

I am putting a system into my 2002 DCSB and i need help figuring out how to amplify everything. I am torn between trying to fit a 5 channel amp under one of the front seats or running a 4 channel for the doors and a mono for the subs. I am also looking at using some micro amps that would power the front doors with one, the rear doors with another and the subs with their own. Im concerned about space issues with the larger 5 channel amps or I would use them. Has anyone put a large amp under a 1st gen seat? How do you guys have your systems aplified in your first gens? Heres what I am putting in. I just got done building my box for 2 Pioneer TS-SW2002D2 shallow mount 8s that come in on thursday. They are 600W max and 150W RMS with dual 2-OHM voice coils. I have some Pioneer TS-A6886R 6x8 coaxials for the rear doors coming that are 4-OHM rated for 60W RMS. And finally I have some Kicker 43CSS684 6x8 Components coming in for the front doors that are 4-OHM and rated for 75W RMS.

 

also...can my deck power other speakers while the amps power door speakers and subs?

 

you "can" use deck power for the rears, but I personally wouldn't. You get into gain matching and all sorts of stuff that require some pricey tools to accurately measure. I would look into the new AudioControl ACM amps. They are tiny, and would provide perfect power for this setup. They have a mono amp that's 300w RMS, and then they have a 4 channel that's 50x4 rms. These are by far the ybest micro-amps on the market.

One big question I have.. Are you keeping the factory radio? If so, absolutely go for the AudioControl amps. If you have an aftermarket radio, there are some other options are well

 

So..i bought a rockville 5 channel and a Belva BB2D 2 farad capacitor from Amazon last night after posting this question. I couldnt wait i guess, they have really good reviews. For about 180$ shipped for the amp its advertised at 4000w peak and 2000w rms. It says at 4OHMs for the doors its 160W RMS, and if i wire the subs for a total impedance of 2OHMs its 1000W RMS or 4OHMs with 600W RMS. Im just hoping i can cram it under the passenger seat.

I replaced the stock deck with an Eonon 10.1 inch Android head unit.....I hate it but I dropped 300 on it like 4 months ago so im gonna deal with it for a few more.

3x40A fuses means 120A total. that means that at +/-1600watts the fuses start blowing. Then take away about 30% efficiency because its a Class AB, and a cheap one at that
That drops us to 1120watts
that power will still get us a horribly distorted signal so I'd cut another 30% to get a realistic RMS
This brings us to 784 total. Most 5-channels put half to the sub and half to the 4 speakers

call that 392watts @2ohms, 196w @4ohms tpo the sub
then about 50x4 @4ohms to the speakers

Not bad power for the price, but that amp is seriously enormous for that power.
Pioneer GM-D9605 goes for about $210 and is half the footprint, with more power.

I would absolutely return the capacitor. They're useless. Put that money towards the pioneer amp to keep the size down and let it actually fit under a seat.

Okay. So I just requested to cancel the amp and the cap, maybe they'll let me. I just measured the space under the seat and theres no way. I'm gonna look into that amp right now, thanks for the advice. I also saw a cerwin Vega 5 channel for about 230 onebay.that was a small profile.
I always thought a capacitor would help with the pulsing draw from the battery. I guess I'll try it without and see how it does with a better amp.
Should I use 4g or 2g wire kit for something like this?

 

or should i run 2 even smaller amps, 1 for the speakers and 1 for the subs?

 

4awg will be plenty for what you’re doing! Make sure it’s OFC and not CCA. KnuKonceptz is a good brand

Two smaller amps would be the best in terms of footprint, but not in terms of budget.

There aren’t many small 300w brick amps on the market. The AudioControl ACM-1.300 is one of the only ones I know of. And it comes in at $250 by itself. Then another $300 for the matching 4ch.

Granted, these amps are phenomenal, but they’re overkill since you have an aftermarket radio.

The alpine powerpack and Kicker Key are two great 4 channel brick amps that both come in under $200, but you’ll still need a mono block for the subs, and that will still be nearly the size of the pioneer I mentioned, and will still be $150 on its own. So now we’re at $300-$350 for far less power than the pioneer, and still spending $90-$140 more.

This will be good with good 4-ga as mentioned above. I'm partial to Knu as well - this is the stuff you want. According to Knu it's good for up to 150A!

i think ive narrowed it to either the NVX or the pioneer. Im going to wait until I see if I can actually return this amp from Amazon before I buy another one, ive never returned anything from amazon and not sure how it works. If I can I am going to return the cap and amp and buy one of the others. Thank you guys for the advice, saving me a lot of headache.

I've returned several things through Amazon. It's pretty painless. You fill out a simple online form, they send a return authorization, you print a label & stick it on the box & send it back. Might have to pay return shipping...depends...I've had it both ways.

 

Or just pick up a 4 channel and use that 2 channel that comes in the kit for the sub

I have the older version of this. It's an amazing value for the money.

Err, and I'd skip that copper coated aluminum stuff. Spend a few more bucks & get the oxygen free copper.

 

The 4 channel and 6 channel rca are about the same so I'm gonna buy a 6 just to keep it nice. Not gonna splurge on the speed wire unless I can use the trucks factory speaker wires from the harness. Should I run new speaker wire all around or can I use the trucks stock wire?
