Putting the vinyl inlay decals over the badge might give a similar look. There might be a way to buy the letters separately too.

Seems like there is a couple different versions of those letters. Ones have pegs of the backside of the letters and on the other version the letters have slots that kinda inlay in the grille.

The ones with the pegs basically just align them, mark the holes, drill and use some epoxy on the backside. The ones with the slots might be a little more of a custom/creative fit.

Really like the blacked out look. What did you use to black out the logo?

I have searched the web over and over for just the pro grill letters. They have to be the oem letters. I can’t afford to buy a real pro grill just for the letters. Anyone got a busted oem one they would part with?

How about me and you go rip them off grilles at car dealerships. I’ll bring the ski masks.

Pro tip: they're parked right up front.

(I won't apologize for the pun, either.)

Here's where it stands now. Possible changes to come, like adding a logo/emblem I like. The 2nd picture, I had a Toyota emblem there that I attempted to plasti-dip, but it ended up being a disaster. Ripped emblem off. You can kinda faintly see where it was.

Travis (@watkins303), I ended up taking the small TSS shield and went to my local wrap shop, and they wrapped one side of it matte, and the other side glossy (took them 1 minute, didn't need to be perfect). I moved it in front of the mesh, but it gets a little bowed once you start tightening the bolts - I figured that's why you put it behind the mesh in the first place. Pictured is with the matte side facing out.

EVerything works fine post-TSS shield wrap, no malfunctions.

Added four bolt-styled IJDMTOY LEDs, fit perfectly in the mesh. We'll see how long it lasts.

I figured that with the tufskins I can still have a slightly raised letter that I can space apart how I like. It may be a while though. Im going to paint the grille a matte silver/gray like the radio surrounding. And have a few mods to do first. But I will post when I finish.

I am telling you OP if you made this same exact grill with the center bar just running straight through, with no flat spot for the letters that clean version would sell like wildfire...

Haha ya know it's pretty funny because the first one I prototyped I did that and many people told me I should put a Toyota Logo in the center with it. Everyone has different taste but I think it would be great to have both styles eventually but going for the badge area in the center was what I thought would be the best first design.

I need to redip my trim piece and adjust the bolts. The bolts are slightly touching and pushing up part of the bottom of the grill up.

Looks great, did you use plasti-dip on the trim piece?

Also where'd you get the lettering at?

    Thanks for the pics!

Looking clean, thanks for the review and pics!

I used a textured krylon paint, it almost matches the powder coating on the bumper. The letters are just vinyl. I'm working on having an acrylic or 3D printed version at some point.
