Justices extend gun owner rights nationwide

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that the Constitution's "right to keep and bear arms" applies nationwide as a restraint on the ability of the federal, state and local governments to substantially limit its reach.

but chicago is already in the works for new gun control laws for their shitty crime rampant city...
    http://www.nraila.org/News/Read/InTheNews.aspx?ID=13953

The Chicago City Council could consider new gun control measures as soon as Wednesday if the U.S. Supreme Court overturns the city's long standing handgun ban Monday, Mayor Richard Daley said. Daley, however, declined to provide specifics Friday on how his administration will respond. For months, City Hall has been drawing up plans after the justices heard the case and appeared to indicate they'll rule against Chicago

So glad I don't live in Cook County anymore.

Daly said if he loses he's just going to copy DC requirements and maybe even add an insurance requirement. TOTAL BS

I do hope they overturn the handgun ban but they should also make it that chicago cant "over restrict" how they are bought either...cities and states shouldnt be able to have stricter laws than federal laws.

This is one of the most important 2A cases in our nations history. The fact that the 2A can now be applied to States and local governments is a huge win.

This will have great impacts in states where the right to keep and bear arms is absent from the state's constitution. (like California).

I am so happy about this I am going to smoke a cigar later and buy Mr. Otis McDonald a box of pistol ammo!

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
glad to see the outcome. it should've never had to go to the supreme court to get this settled the right way.

The "common" sense we hear about is in fact not so common..

Thank goodness the not so common sense prevailed in this case
