Blew something up... help me figure out what

Ok, so last night I finally finished my $15 4x4 swtich illumination project. After tying into the climate controls everything was fine, but I realized that what I thought were white LEDs were yellow and went to swap them. I pulled the switch back out, cut the power and ground wires and went back inside.

All back together and ready to go but... its really dim, wait now its not working! Wait, where are the illumination lights for my climate controls and radio buttons???

My guage lights are still functioning as is my dimmer switch, radio (including the screen), the lights for the climate control buttons and power outlets. It seems I have lost the circut for all the interior lights that come on whenever your headlights or running lights are on.

I have been trying to search and figure out which fuse I might have blown, but I am not sure what circut that power is off. I have pulled all the 10 and 7.5 Amp fuses, and they all look good. My best guess is that when I snipped the wires the cutters made a connection and blew something, I just don't know what...

 

It is mot likely a fuse. Look in the fus panel behind the left side box thing next to the steering wheel.

 

Did you cut the power and ground wires together? If you did, then you essentially tied them together and shorted them out. I'd check the fuses.

 

Exactly what happened, didn't even think about it when I did it.

I never would have thought to try the ignition fuses. I'll see if that will work!

 

Well its not the ignition fuse, but the tail light fuse that you get the power from. Took hours to figure it out, but now I am all set. Thanks for the help!
