@OVTune, for what it's worth, I get what you're saying about the AT tune & will wait till you dial it in to what you feel is right. I grew up in the days of B&M shift kits & high stall TQ's, was a mystery then to me, but had fun learning. Now FF to 2018, they really mucked it up, thank God for you figuring it out, amazes me. . Looking forward to 1,05

I’m probably gonna catch hell for this but what would be the advantages of regearing a 2WD with stock size tires? Low end torque?

With all of this new found insight into how the Tacoma Shiftgate really works, will this end up making shifts happen quicker, and smoother perhaps? After driving a lot of different customer vehicles all the time, every day I get in my Tacoma to drive home and feel like gear shifts take forever. So many times is there the bump from behind feeling when accelerating lightly or decelerating. Just running the TSB for now.

You need some gears... 4.88s and I am in 4th by the time I hit 30 under normal acceleration.

Not what I meant. I mean the time it takes to actually think, calculate, and perform a gear shift. This process is very slow and sloppy. The last thing I want is MORE shifting. This stupid thing is in 5th gear at 31 mph under normal acceleration.

What’s wrong with that? You’re getting probably 25-28 MPG

Mpgs are not the goal of most. The best comment I’ve heard to describe the A/T: feels like it was built to decelerate.

Agree with you there. We want...

Power, smooth shifting, and acceleration because people are stupid.

I’m happy with 1.04R. Wish the cruise control mapping was updated but gives me that to look forward to in 1.05.

4.30s and 33s getting 20 mpg on the highway saves on the 5000 mile trips though.
