When you originally posted them I held off, even though I've been wanting an amber fog since I got my truck. Seeing those pics and review, I may not be able hold off much longer.

The Amber fog is very nice, mine throw really good light but didn't come with Amber lens or covers so I found a company that makes film for them....works great and when it gets all chipped up I peel and replace so no actual damage to the lights true lens.

My F-150 does the window thing. I do miss the wiper deicers--my Outback had them. Lariats and up can get them, but my lowly XLT doesn't have them. I do have heated seats, mirrors, and rear defroster though which the Tacoma didn't have.

Morning all. Broke single digits for the first time this season. 8 degrees at the house, according to the thermostat on the truck. Warmed up to 12 by the time I got to Lewiston.

My old house was on a corner in a fairly open neighborhood, and whenever there was wind while it was snowing it'd swirl around instead of just picking a direction to blow in. So it didn't matter what direction you aimed the chute; at some point you were getting a face full of snow.

    Still not heated :p

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Ford has too many model levels of trucks. Most companies do but Ford is the worst! They really only need 3. Base, mid and high end. Ford has like 2 different mid levels and 2 or 3 high end models

I bought some “brown and serve” sausages for my teens who are making their own breakfasts a lot. They said they were disgusting, and they eat anything. I tried one, truly nasty, so I gave them to the dog. She refused to eat them. Makes you wonder what’s in permafrost meat?

I wish I had heated seats! I have the heated mirrors, which are awesome, but no rear defroster. My F150 had it but it's a useless feature, in my opinion. It's a vertical window, it never ices up on me and, if it does, I still have the side mirrors anyways. The one thing about my F150 that I didn't like was the nozzles for the windshield washer fluid was flush mounted in the cowl and would ice up easily and wouldn't work. The newer models have them sticking up so it looks like they learned their lesson.
It's even a lot worse than it appears because of all the trim levels within each model! You have the XL, STX, XL value package, etc, etc. You can dress up an XL so it's easily better equipped than a stripped XLT. Lariat is a good base trim level but then there are several levels of Lariat that have features that overlap with the King Ranch, Limited and Platinum. If you build say an XLT on Ford's website, I think you can have a $15-20k swing between a base XLT and a fully loaded XLT with the same cab configuration, it's nuts!

Yeah, XL, XL with STX package, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited.

The incentives work oddly too. I looked at going for an STX because it had most of what I want and the MSRP is much lower on paper. But, there aren't anywhere near as many incentives so my XLT with more options was basically the same price in the end.

Lots of overlap too--my XLT has just about every option available on that trim level, so it's pretty much the same as an entry level Lariat minus the leather. If I had an entry-level XLT, though, it's very bare bones.

Once you start throwing in cab and bed configurations, there has to be over 300 different configurations you could get with the F150.

    I never liked heated seats.
Charger has them, they turn on automatically in certain conditions.
Id say my Taco is about as equipped as Id like it.....
Charger is almost perfectly equipped. Id have preferred the SRT, but, she fell in lust with the Daytona, and I bought it for her, so...

Anyway.... 23f down here in New Bedford this morning, someone needs to turn up the heat....

I have run amber fogs in all my vehicles - my last three sets were from Diode Dynamics however on the truck I'm running their street legal (when aimed properly) wide 6" led bars with an amber lens. They're mint in the snow and work great for white-out conditions. I might switch the 18" bar over to amber as well since I ordered one extra but never installed it.

Is the amber any better than the selective yellow?

The Rams are just as bad. Tradesman, Express, SLT, Bighorn, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn & Limited. And if you're looking at 2500's there's a Power Wagon option too. And you can pick and choose different options or configurations within each trim level, too.

Between trim levels, individual equipment options, engine & transmission options, cab sizes and bed lengths there's got to be a couple hundred ways you can configure a truck.

That looks like an effective setup. Do you ever put Amber covers on your ditch lights for street legal use?

They're the side shot ones so I'm not sure if they have covers for them. If they do I havent seen it. I rarely use the ditch lights on the street only if someone cuts me off or brake checks me. In which case I make it so I can see into the back of their head....
