I'm not entirely sure I do know the diodes have yellow instead of amber, either seem to function pretty good to me.

The bit about yellow / amber is it removes the lower part of the light wave, which is the blue wave and is also the more reflective wave. The further you cut the lower section of the wave off, the further you can throw the light in rain and dust because it's not being refracted and also you don't have glare. Both the yellow / amber are easier for the eyes to process.

That's what I'm talking about. Too many options. Another problem with Ford too is that they will make different parts depending on the options. You should see the sheer number of ECM's available for those trucks. Only 3 or 4 engine choices but 55 to 60 computer's. Wiring harnesses change depending on options too. Ford needs to learn to KISS method.

Chevy has 1 computer per engine and only 1 wiring harness per cab configuration. If you don't get an option its just an empty plug. Simple

    I get that.

It wasn't until recently, that the yellow/Amber thing has been a factor for me.

I've pretty much used selective yellow. Better than the harsh white in crap conditions.
Even makes a difference in beach driving when the mist is rolling in off the gulf, etc.
BUT, if the Amber visually is better, in particular the snow/,hard rain/fog... I'd be inclined to lean that way.

Not sure what Ford will be doing for the ECM/wiring situation, but at least like you said, the Ranger will have the Base, Mid, High tier as the only trim options.

Haha yeah, I do that as well. I actually want to put some spot lights on the back of my truck for the tailgating types.

Anywho, I have the sideshooters as well and put some Rigid amber covers on them. All I had to do was file down the 4 plastic moldings on the inside of the covers to give them a snug fit. Size and shape are identical otherwise.

Like I've mentioned before , I have bad astigmatism. So glare can basically make the road disappear on me. I've had yellow fogs before and they made a huge difference considering how my eyes are prone

What's funny is, even though they have all the different ECMs, it's likely 1 ECM per engine but with different codes selected for different options. I used ForScan on the F150 and I could plan around with a lot of the options and configurations in the ECM. Anything you install, even though the wiring is there for an option, you plug it in and then you have to have the dealer 'activate' it.

I find the Jimmy Dean sausages to be the best of the pre-cooked sussages...We get them at BJ's real cheap. The box of like 30 at BJ's is cheaper than the box of 12 at the grocery store.

I like that they're configurable. It's one of the things that steered me away from the competitors. Building trucks from most of them is infuriating.

Yeah, I think I could pretty easily give my truck lots of the high end options by just plugging them in and changing the config in ForScan.

Price on the 6 inch wide LED bars? I am looking at a tube bumper this weekend and hoping to do a similar amber/yellow setup as yours. Nice looking front end!

160$ is MSRP on the pair of amber/yellow 6inch bars. I have had mine on for about 18k miles and they are just the paint is starting to chip off from the rocks and salt/etc but I have yet to have any moisture in them or even had one fail. Black friday they normally have a 20% off sale.

I think the ForScan is just a basic part of the ECM. They most certainly are not the same part with different numbers. If you do not get the exact correct one they do not fire the engine, even with programming at a dealership
But not cool when you need a part that they make 75 different part numbers for and I'm talking about only 1 part that they made for only 1 year on 1 model

Well. Use caution when buying from realtruck. Even when you try to verify stock Screenshot_20181115-082207.jpg Screenshot_20181115-094828.jpg Screenshot_20181115-094838.jpg Screenshot_20181115-094849.jpg Screenshot_20181115-094908.jpg Screenshot_20181115-095041.jpg

    I think of it as

    Base
    Good
A little bit better than good
    Better
    Nice
    Nice +
One below the best but a little bit better than the Nice + one
    Best

It's ridiculous and most of it is overly redundant. Ford needs to fix it

Ford's pricing layout and trim levels are exactly why I have a GMC right now. I wanted an F150 but to get real rear doors and a 6 foot bed was basically an impossibility unless I was spending 50k or more.

You have a connection for diod dynamics correct? Interested in DOT amber fogs.

Also, are you interested in selling that spare light bar? :D
